    Home button on XBOX One media remote not functioning properly


    The home button on my media remote has suddenly stopped functioning properly. Usually when I hold the button it gives me an option to power off the console or the controller. However, now whenever I try to hold the button it does nothing. The button still
    works if just pressed but not when it is held. Any one else have this issue or no of a solution?

    Hi.

    When you are using an app and want to get back to the Xbox home screen with the media remote, tap the Power On/Home button (the big "Xbox" button at the top) to reveal the guide and select "Home."

    If you wish to completely close an app, press the Power On/Home button to access the guide, navigate the guide to highlight the app you wish to close, tap the Menu (hamburger) button, and navigate to "Quit" on the context menu.

    Official Xbox One Media Remote Media Buttons Not Working

    I have had the official Xbox One Media Remote for about 6 months. For at least a few weeks now, the media buttons (play, stop, fast forward, etc) have not been working on any app, including just trying to pause OTA live TV. All other buttons are working
    properly. Any ideas? Other people on third party forums seem to be having the same issue.

    Hi there,

    I just tried the remote on my console (alpha build) and it brings up the option to turn off the console.

    Question - have you changed the batteries in the remote lately? When I had the issue like you described, someone else in the preview mentioned to try fresh batteries. I changed the batteries and it all started working correctly.

    Media Remote Compatibility with Soyo MT-SYTPT3718AB 37-Inch LCD HDTV

    I purchased the new Xbox Media Remote and was able to find a code that worked from the list of Soyo codes provided (the code for this TV is 1746).

    The TV power button functions as expected to turn the TV on and off.

    Volume, Mute, and Input buttons function properly.

    The Guide, Back, Last, and Disp buttpms don't seem to work.

    Changing the channel doesn't work with this code either.

    The net result is that it works fine if you want to use the remote to power on your TV, switch to Xbox input, and control the volume as you play content - but it's not really compatible with this TV as far as channel surfing and other features are concerned.
