Home Button Doesn't Leave Games

For the past few weeks when playing a game, pressing the Home button does not leave the game and return to the Home menu. It does nothing. If I double tap it, it brings up the option to Snap, and if I hold the button it gives me the option to turn off the
controller, console, or report a problem. But if I click on report a problem, it does nothing. The only way to exit a game is to power cycle my console.

Xbox home button not working

The home button isn't working, it's able to turn on the xbox, and the controller turns on when I hold it, but that's it. Whenever I'm in a game or an app, the home button doesn't work, it won't go home or open game/party invites. When I double hit it to
record something, or take a screenshot, it does nothing as well. And when I hold it to try and turn off the console it doesn't do anything at all, I've tried using a 2nd controller and still the home button doesn't work. Any ideas on how to help me fix this???

 

Xbox One Home Button Light Not Working

I just installed a new Xbox One and while the controller works fine, the home button light doesn't. We tried installing different batteries but it doesn't seem to light up the home button.

It seems like a few folks have had this issue and I haven't found a solution yet. As a workaround, can you use voice commands instead like "Xbox, show my stuff"? I'm just curious if the voice commands fail to take you to the dashboard as well. I know some
folks have recommended power cycling but haven't had any success with this. Alternatively, you could always request a repair/purchase a new controller but obviously that is not an ideal solution.
