I was browsing the store page and my xbox froze. I pressed the off button and waited 10 seconds and turned it back on but i now had a black screen that said “from your games and apps, unistall home. Then install it again. (0x80073cfc)”. I tried pressing
the xbox button to bring up the guide and it said i had to unistall and reinstall the guide aswell. Ive tried everything i can think of. I wanted to see if i could do a reset but i need into settings for that. Ive searched all over and i cant find a fix or
even anyone else who has had this problem.

The same thing it shows me the xbox booting up and then goes back to a black screen saying home has to be deleted and reintalled. Im going to try and do the factory reset as soon as i can

Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the
console.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox. Now, what we suggest is a reset of the
console since the problem that is causing this could be in the OS of the console so we suggest a
Soft Factory Reset(while
keeping games and apps) Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

If the console is not responding properly by providing the different menus. We would approach this differently.

Try this:

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
Press and hold the
BINDbutton (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the
EJECTbutton (located on the front of the console), and then press the
Xboxbutton on the console.
Continue holding the
BINDand
EJECTbuttons for 10-15 seconds.
Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
BINDand
EJECTbuttons after the second power-up tone.
The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
Select Reset this Xbox
Select Reset this Xbox and Keep Games and Apps

You may have to factory reset the console. If you can't access the settings you should follow the steps on the link provided by Puppy Fujo. What happens when you power cycle the console ?
