Holding credit cards hostage for free games

I don't care how many posts/threads/pages have been made about this issue, but there is no necessity for Microsoft to hold my credit card for free xbox360 games. I used to have a credit card on file, but had to cancel it, because I had to constantly watch
for errors with previous subscriptions I had cancelled but would randomly be charged for. I DO NOT TRUST MICROSOFT WITH MY CARD! I paid for my gold subscription, my xbox, and my games with cash. If I need something from the store I can get a card at GameStop.
I don't care how the old system was set up on XBox 360 or why you still tell people that they have to have a card on file, but it needs to stop. I guess you've got a better chance of children spending their parents money or something? It's very shady to require
payment methods for free content. Stop it. Do what you advertised and give the monthly game (that is technically paid for in my subscription) without strings attached. Microsoft has already made mistakes with my credit card, so I have good reason not to trust
the company with my card.

Suspended! Prepaid a year but MS wants me to buy a month at full price

So basically, even though I had no balance (they want me to pre pay for a month I didn't receive) and if for some reason I can't pay off my credit cards in the next few months, I'm screwed.

Thanks Microsoft for making a product that lies (tells me auto renew is off when it wasn't) and holding my money hostage while making me pay for a service I didn't receive. (My account expired ON 5/20 which is why I renewed it with the card, who knew that
even though paying on the date it's due it's already considered "in arrears".

The free 360 games can be purchased via a 360 console with no credit card needed on an account. Otherwise you will need a card on file.

I agree. I went through the help and it told me how to cancel it but of course it wasn't there and of course I couldn't remove my card because it is attached to an auto removal. This is BS. A bunch of liars is what they are. And don't give us this crap about
calling support. They are useless and you have to wait on hold for ever. Plus I had bought a $25 card from them. Had a few numbers I couldn't read and they would not help me. So I lost out on $25.

I advise you to go and change your credit card expiration date and security code so they can't put it through. Or find an old card that isn't valid anymore and put that in and then delete the valid one. They should not be able to hold your credit card hostage.

Why hold this game hostage for something that happens at launch on every online title? I understand that you want it a certain way, but this is the way it is.
