Hold on a sec screen going no further

Just bought an xbox one, switched on, entered wifi details, it confirmed it was connected, gone to next screen where it says contacting services, hold on a sec, i been holding on for last 12 hours, any ideas, as its pisstake that i cant even play a game
without the internet

i bought a used xbox one at the advice of my local gamestop, and im going through the start up pages and its getting stuck on the location screen, with a hold on a sec and a loading circle.

Hi had this problem for the last few hours.

Read on here a cure. Which is to press button on console to switch off, hold down 10 sec, give it 10sec, then press and hold button down again for 10 sec to start it up. screen should load up as usual then press button on controller. Jobs a gooden.

 

Sorry to hear it. Can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down? That should fix the problem.
