    I installed Hitman III via Game Pass for PC and initially the benchmark worked fine with 140 FPS. I maxed out the settings and ran another benchmark. After that I tried to start the game and Windows completely crashed with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I reset the graphic settings back to default and it let me play for a little bit even after maxing out the settings in game. I close the game and when I try again later I get instant BSOD crashes when I click play from the launcher. Even when I clicked Verify and Repair or Uninstall, the first time it BSODs. It lets me uninstall when I boot back up. I reinstalled and just loading the launcher causes my system to BSOD now.

    I read a lot of people are having crashes with the PC version of this game. Are there any known fixes yet?

    I disabled Virtualization, disabled Turbo Boost, my RAM is fine. All my other games play fine.

    I'm running an Intel i7-11700K and a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

    We continue to investigate the situation, and we hope to have a fix soon. Please continue to check the Windows store, and you should get an Xbox app and Gaming services update within the store. If you see that update, please apply and attempt to install your games and tell us if your device is still experiencing a Blue Screen issue.

    Submitting a bug through the Xbox App

    1. Navigate to the top right of the application and select your gamerpic icon
    2. Select “Feedback” in the drop-down menu
    3. Select “Report a problem
    4. Click "Give new feedback"
    5. Add [Xbox Forum] in “Summarize your feedback” followed by a feedback summary

      Please name it the following way [Xbox Forum] Hitman III BSOD When Launching [ The Lone Saiyan]
    6. Category should automatically be selected.
    7. Once complete, post the title of the bug report along with the submission date in this thread

    Update on BSOD issue

    Hello,

    With regards to BSOD with Xbox App on PC. A fixed has been pushed since last Friday and you should check for an update to the Gaming services via the Windows store. Your gaming services should be Gaming Services version 3.63.16003. To verify this

    • Open the Xbox app
    • Click on your Profile and then click settings
    • Then click on About and under Versions you should see Gaming Services version 3.63.16003
    This update fixes all the issues except the Avira configuration. There is still a known compatibility problem with Avira anti-virus that may cause crashing. We do not have an ETA, but an update should be released soon to address this specific issue.

    Thanks for the reply. I have confirmed I can launch without issue and have passed the word along to the IOI customer service representative that has been helping me.

    Turns out the issue was affecting all new installs I learned before this fix.

    Thank you for that information. As i was looking through our Known Game Issue thread on our Xbox Forum. I came across this and wanted to know if you have tried this? This was also posted on IOI interactives site. It is worth a try as a workaround that hopefully will stop your machine from BSOD. If not, my best suggestion is to check their support site or Twitter account when they release a fix for this specific issue.

    Windows PC (Microsoft) Launching Issues
    We're aware of an issue where specific players on Windows PC (Microsoft) / PC Game Pass would crash when the game launched. A known workaround is to open the Xbox app, navigate to Settings>General and turn off the "Advanced Installation and management features" option in the Xbox app. It may be necessary to perform a full reinstall of the game.
