    Hitachi 60GB HDDSS.BIN needed

    Hello everyone,

I recently removed an Hitachi 60GB hard drive from a genuine Xbox 360 caddy and reformatted it on windows and now I need to use it back on the xbox.

I had no idea that reformatting it would delete the HDDSS.BIN file (I had incorrectly assumed that this was firmware and therefore unable to be altered or deleted in windows).

The weird thing is that after a while I plugged it in and it recognised it again and I could format it, but then I formatted it in windows (or not, I dont know, its 1am) and it's disappeared again.

If anyone could point me to a compatible HDDSS file for my Hitachi (HTS542560K9SA00) that I could flash with 'hddhackr' than I'd be very grateful. I know this probably isn't the best place to be asking but I'm desperate. Please only helpful replies, no "You're
stuffed" because believe me, I know...

    Thank you,

    Dnz207

    :)

    Black bars on blu-ray playback

Some brands of big screen televisions lack the software needed to display proper perspective. I once had a 60'' Hitachi television that said 720p on the box but it was really 480p stretched up.

  6. 1. Taking the hard drive out of it's casing is considered modifying/tampering with the hardware.

    2. Xbox hard drives are never meant to be hooked up to a PC. Doing so can be seen a software modification.

You are talking about using software called "hddhackr". Part of its name is hacker. The use of any 3rd party software to install or modify files is not allowed. You should have used the tools available on the console to format the drive.
