Was the N64 the first console that let you buy a hardware upgrade for it, with the Expansion Pak?

 

It was the first Rumble Pack, Hardware upgrade is a tricky topic. Technically speaking an Amiga 500 was upgradeable with memory. The colecovision had an Atari 2600 Adapter (Downgrade) For consoles, I'm not sure whether it's official but I guess it's the
1st graphics upgrade?

 

October 4, 2010 saw the release of Enslaved, a game that flew under everyone's radar but it was good fun.

 

I remember putting the expansion pack in my N64; and getting each of my 4 controllers in a different color. That's been a while. When this console released, I was in my senior year of high school. I, of course, bought it and Zelda OOT. I loved playing Zelda
and Mario in 3D worlds.

 

I've never actually played an N64. They sell them quite cheap on Amazon by five star users. Can't believe Conker on the N64 was rated 'E.' Ooh, and Conker is coming to Project Spark on the Xbox One. Also, speaking of the N64, I sometimes wish to save up
to buy an N64 or a GameCube.

1998 7th of october - Armored Core: Project Phantasma is released on Playstation NA

1999 7h of october - Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes is released on the Dreamcast NA

2003 7th of October - Viewtiful Joe is released on NGC

2004 7th of October - SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom is released on Xbox in Japan and NA

Theres allot more releases on this day, thy are mainly Europe releases

conkers bad fur day, that had some swearing in it, diddy kong racing? fantastic single and multiplayer,turok 2 the cerebal bore where it drilled into the dinosaurs head and exploded, zelda ocarina of time and of course the best video game single (ok half
life was as good) and multiplayer ever made..goldeneye

 

Turok, zelda and Goldeneye are highlights for the N64. But really, Super Mario 64 was the game changer, a true 3d platformer.

9th Oct 1998 - 1080 Snowboarding was release on N64 in most or Europe

9th Oct 1997 - Fallout is released for dos and windows, this is the 1st fallout before 3 and new vegas

9th Oct 1997 - Dead or Alive and DOA Lim edition is released on Sega Saturn In japan

9th Oct 2002 - Namco Museum is released in Xbox in NA

9th Oct 2002 - Silent Scope 3 is released on PS2 in NA

Hahaha, nah you're doing good work! Though the format I was thinking this thread might play out is instead of every day or close to (because let's face a lot of *** comes out) maybe once a week and see if there was a significant title(s) in that week that
impacted gaming or pop culture in some way.

I only say this as it might generate a little more conversation around the topic, I wouldn't even care if you made your own thread and started over as I think the information you're getting is brilliant!

I just don't have anything to say about October 9 though, haven't played any of them.

 

I'll start a new thread next week on behalf of Darkplayr, but keep it at 1 week. Yeah the9th was not interesting, 1080 was a big hit though DOA, Fallout and Xb's namco museum are some of my favourites

Oct 17 2001 - Devil May cry is releases on PS2 in NA and canada

Oct 17 2003 - Judge Dredd VS Death is released on PS2, Xbox and Windows all over Europe

Oct 17 2008 - Saints Row 2 is released on 360 in Europe

Oct 17 2006 - Destroy all Humans! 2 is releases on XB and PS2 in NA

I will comment on saints row 2, I got it for free with a magazine subscription and it's still sitting in the plastic unplayed as I just never got around to it. I tend to do that with free games, haha.

Also I've only recently played the DMC reboot and that was awesome.

 

I want to play the DmC reboot! Still stingy on its price and I'm not sure if I'll see it any lower.

The only game I've played out of the DMC HD collection has been DMC3 and I haven't even finished it. Is it worth revisiting if at least to play the other two titles?
