    Hisense 50H8C won't support 4k on Xbox One S


    I just purchased a Xbox One S today and hooked it up to my Hisense 50H8C 4K TV.

    The TV is currently working with a Windows 10 PC running at 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz no problem.

    Trying to enable 4K from the Xbox One S connected to the same HDMI as the PC was with the same HDMI 2.0 cable gives me this error: "4K won't work on your TV". And yet I am doing it just fine in Windows 10.

    What can I do to fix this problem?

    I'm having the same exact issue I have no problem displaying 4k but my HDTV does support hdr 10 but no matter what i do the hdr option is greyed out . This is rather frustrating as I would love to see what hdr looks like on my tv. I'm using the supplied
    HDMI cable that came with my xbox one s. My tv model is a Hisense h8 series model number 50h8c

    I have a Hisense 43H7C with the same issue. The Hisense 2016 4K televisions do "process" HDR10 metadata but the Xbox one s does not recognize the capability and I'm using a high speed HDR capable HDMI cable as well. I know the HDR works because I've tested
    it with HDR video on a USB stick and the tv's built in media player. There needs to be a way to force the Xbox S to output HDR regardless, or Hisense will need a firmware update to allow the Xbox to recognize it can process HDR....

    Ok.. I got something here.

    I had the TV connection in the Advanced video settings set to HDMI. I tried switching to DVI and got the same problem. On a whim I tried Auto-detect and amazingly I can now output in 4k!

    Hisense 4K issues

    On the Xbox One S games have to be upscaled to 4K. UHD BluRays and 4K digital video streaming will be output in native 4K on the Xbox One S.

    Check with the HiSense support, why your TV would not detect a 4K signal from the console. Also make sure that your HDMI cable that you use is able to sustain the higher data rate of 4K video. If you have an older HDMI cable that is not HDMI2.2 compliant,
    the cable might induce errors in the data stream, and the TV can't make any sense of the erroneous data coming through the cable.
