Hijacked account

I came to use my account only to find that there is a different gamertag & I am unable to access my account. Microsoft "talk to a person" does not accept my number in the UK, any ideas as to how to access & log onto MY account?

Yes it is, I just finally figured out how to change my password and am in the process of recovering my gamertag on my system.

This does indeed sound like a scam, I don't know which support you've contacted but that does not sound like Xbox Support.

I suggest contacting the real support by phone (You mentioned being from India so this is the support number for that region)

When you're on the phone you need to ask to open an "Unauthorized Access" claim saying your account has been compromised and you don't have access to it anymore. If you have a creditcard attached to your account I suggest contacting your bank as well to have
it temporarily blocked for transactions to Microsoft

He will need to call Xbox Support for his region, and explain what happened and as long as he can prove the account is his Xbox support will be able to lock it and return it to him.

Reset the accounts password by selecting the "Forgot your password" option under the login screen either on the console or on the associated email. Make sure to enable 2 factor authentication to help ensure this doesn't happen again.

You should contact your bank and report the fraud.

When the claim was started they should have locked the account - Contact support with your Ref# and have them lock the account.
