  2. Input device choice simply comes down to personal preference. My preference is the steering wheel. Other's prefer the controller. I may be quick compared to you but I'm not even close to being the fastest person in this game. There are many others that are
faster than me that are using a controller. The steering wheel is not some kind of magical game changer.

Back on topic - I was thinking more about your test. You mentioned running 50-lap races taking 45-60 minutes which puts your average lap times between 0:54 and 1:12. You also mention that career races of 2-5 laps taking 8-10 minutes which equates to lap
times between 1:36 and 5:00. It doesn't seem like you're doing an apples-to-apples comparison here.

    .

What track(s) were you using for your 50-lap test?

  3. When I run the endurance races, it is more efficient and faster to complete 50 laps at the Brickyard with most of the assists off and grab the credits and XP, than it is to run career races with those same assists turned off. I'm more susceptible to spin
out on lap 3 in career mode with those same assists turned off when I'm trying to gain position, than I am at the Brickyard running 25-50 laps. I earn more money doing endurance races for this reason, than I would in career mode.

  4. Highest Payout Races/Drivatar Payouts

I got on a quest tonight. I decided to do some comparison testing between free play and career play to evaluate my own earning results. It also gave me a chance to complete another series and do some D-class racing in the Mini – which was new for me in this
    game.

I did the Vintage Mini Series. I didn’t have any Affinity with the Mini manufacturer so I was a good test of leveling up Affinity too. I used auto-upgrade to get the Mini to D400. I used Normal Steering, Full Line, No ABS, TCS Only, Manual shifting and Cosmetic
damage. I set the Drivatar difficulty level on Expert (3rd highest). I got gold in every race except one where I took Silver. The entire series took 64 minutes from the start of the intro to screen where you’re awarded the 12,000CR series completion
    bonus.

    1. Silverstone 7 Minutes 8085CR, 4900XP

    2. Top Gear (Bowling) 3 Minutes 1560CR 920XP

    3. Yas Marina 7 Minutes 7755CR, 4700XP

    4. Laguna Seca 8 Minutes 8400CR 5100XP

    5. Indy GP 7 Minute 8250CR 5000XP

    6. Alps 7 Minutes 4100CR 4100XP

    7. Sebring (Autocross) 3 Minutes 2278CR 1200XP

    8. Prague 7 Minutes 7605CR 4500XP

    9. Bugatti (Silver) 8 Minutes 4901CR 3900XP

    10. Bathurst 7 Minutes 8281CR 4900XP

    11. Series Bonus 12000CR

    Earnings:

    · Base CR (including bonus) earned was: 73,215

    · Total XP earned was: 39220 (which is enough to level up 2.5 times for an additional 87500 (prorated at 2.5 * 35000)

    · Total CR Earned = 73215 + 87500 = 160715CR

Next I ran some laps at the Brickyard to see how these earnings compare to Freeplay. I did three races of 2-laps, 5-laps and 10-laps. I used the same car and settings as above.

    1. 2-lap 3 Minutes 2877CR 2100XP

    2. 5-lap 6 Minutes 6987CR 5100XP

    3. 10-lap 12 Minutes 13900CR 10000XP

    4. Hypothetical 50-lap 60 Minutes 70000CR 50000XP

It’s just one comparison but my testing also shows that running laps around the oval is more efficient than running a career series. 50 laps around the oval takes a bit less time. It also nets a few more credits (Add in 3.3 level-ups (116,000CR) and the
total CR earned in the 50-lap race is 186,000CR).

What I found interesting is that the sole difference between career and freeplay is the time spent in forced menus and animations. There is 2 full minutes of watching animations in between each race in career mode. If you chop out those 20 minutes the earnings
in the career mode races (44 minutes, 160,000CR is basically equal to 60 minutes of free play earning 186,000CR).

I was just racing my indy car on the R series an I kept falling short of the time by 200 of a second, it always kind of stalled out on the second turn of INDIANAPOLUS Ovals, no matter how clean I raced it slammed on the breaks on turn 2 just before the straight
away an the opponent just left me in the dust, I don't know why it does this, Im flying through the second turn an then all of a sudden Im breaking right down to 90 MPH, just sick! SO I didn't know you can rack up points by just doing more laps?? KOOL, going
to try that on my highest #.

  7. I spent the weekend doing a number of rivals events and I've decided that rivals is definitely the best way to earn credits.

    .

I've been getting A LOT of XP doing rivals and that translates into multiple level-ups when the race finishes. My typical runs have been between 10-20 laps and I've often found myself leveling up 2-3 times per run (with VIP that can be 210,000cr after just
    15-20 laps).

    .

Has anyone else found that running rivals earns more credits than the standard 50-lappers around the oval?

  8. Highest Payout Races/Drivatar Payouts

I was doing career for a little bit, but got bored with it rather quickly. Something feels off about career mode in this game that i can't quite put my finger on yet. Yes, the AI is terrific, love how your drivatar gets money while you are offline. But its
just something about the main career that does not keep me hooked like FM4 did.

But the easiest way I get money is doing the INDY Oval and since I am a VIP member I get 70k per level up and anywhere from 60-90k depending on affinity level, for 30-50 Laps.

I noticed some people would actually take 20 minutes to do a lap, an I was thinking maybe I should have milked that 20 minutes, TOO LATE but seriously IF I had gone around beating that 20 minute by one minute each lap I bet that would have been a BIG payday!
