    High pitched sound coming from TV only when playing XB1


    Hello, a few days ago I noticed a high pitched sound coming from my tv audio. The TV is new and xb1 is new as well. I played around with the HDMI cords, the connections to the xbox and the audio settings. It kind of sounds like a ringing on the ears when
    something smacks the floor, and it's constant. Anyone else have this issue? or have a way to fix it? Tried restarting, and taking it off of instant on.

    Xbox One February Update - TV Speakers now emit an audible high-pitched whine/static sound

    I'm experiencing this same thing. At first it only occurred in game when a high pitched noise went off and then it would continue screeching long after the match was over. Now there's just a constant high pitched sound that my tv is sending off when I turn
    on the Xbox One. This only started happening after the update for me as well. I've done all those same things and it's still persisting.

    Xbox One making strange high pitched noises

    I have an Xbox One that is making strange high pitched (beeping sort of, sounds sort of like a malfunctioning fire alarm) noises during an update. I haven't updated nor used the console in a while... I have heard the "high pitched whirring" noises coming
    from my Xbox but this sounds different. Is it just my Xbox updating or do I have an issue with it?

    It's not a chirping sound. It's not a high pitch sound. It sounds similar to the buzzing/humming from a DVR or laptop. It goes off after around 5 minutes.

    Yeah the problem definitely still occurs for me. I cannot think of anything else I could do to make this sound stop, short of buying a new TV. Have you tried your Xbox One on another TV? And if so, does that high-pitched whine sound persist?

    One thing I have noticed with the latest Beta Preview update is that I'm now able to change my HDMI audio option to 'Bitstream out' with a 'Dolby Digital' Bitstream format. When I change it to that, the high-pitched whine/static I hear with 'Stereo Uncompressed'
    does go away, but now I get crackling sounds through my TV speakers. It seems like this crackling is a known issue though, and apparently additional fixes have gone in to the latest Beta Preview update (1404) that is being deployed tonight.

    Hopefully something positive comes out of this latest preview, although I’m not holding my breath.
