  1. High Packet Loss

I recently got an Xbox one for Christmas, and everything was working fine until a few days ago. I received a message saying that I could not connect to the online servers and so I ran the multiplayer test and it says I have 100% packet loss. I honestly have
no idea what this means and I've received conflicting information whether or not it's on my side, or on Microsoft's so I was hoping someone would be able to help me out. This only started recently, it worked fine on WiFi in the beginning, but then it randomly
stopped working. I am unable to keep it permanently connected to the router via Ethernet cable, but I just don't know what is going on with this. I tried everything the Microsoft help said to do with the router and everything and nothing has worked. Any information
about what I can do to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

First thing to try would be a hard reset.

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
    for results.

  6. I am in my room, and nothing separates the xbox from the router besides walls. But even right next to each other, I still have the high packet loss. I am trying the hard reset now.

Okay, would you also provide this information. I meant to include it on the earlier post. Of course if the hard reset works we won't need the information below.

  9. This is from the "known issues" page on that router .....

    Known Issues

Lag and intermittent disconnections may occur, with no permanent fix known at this time. We are currently working with Comcast towards a resolution.

High Firewall settings on this device can cause a number of errors on both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. We have seen "High packet loss" errors on the Xbox One and several potential errors on the 360 including "MTU", "Internet error", "Live connection".
Should any of these errors occur we suggest disabling or setting the firewall to low.

XB1R HADES: Update: (12/24/2014): At this time there is currently no guaranteed fix for these issues and there may not be a fix for some time. This is a firmware issue with the device and not something that Xbox can fix on our end. At this time the best
suggestion we can make would be to replace the gateway with a different brand. Currently the Arris gateways also share similar issues as well.

    What's a highpacketloss

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good evening

"High packet loss" is a term used to describe a situation in which a significant number of data packets are lost or dropped when they are transmitted over a network. A packet is a small unit of data that is transmitted over a network, and packet loss occurs when some packets fail to reach their intended destination.

Packet loss can occur for a variety of reasons, including network congestion, equipment failure, and other technical issues. High packet loss can have a significant impact on network performance, leading to slow data transfer speeds, increased latency, and degraded overall network performance.

In general, a high packet loss rate is considered to be anything above 5%, although the exact threshold may vary depending on the type of network and the specific applications being used. If you are experiencing high packet loss, it is important to troubleshoot the issue and identify the underlying cause in order to improve network performance and reduce the risk of data loss.

I just got the message when testing my Multiplayer connection on xbox one "You have high packet loss. Your packet loss is 20%. This is high and may be affecting network quality." never gotten that before.
