High latency problems

In October/ November I had high latency problems only on my Xbox One (every other device in my house was fine to game on.) Come December the high latency problem went away, now its doing again, and it started up about last week. Anyone know what the problem
could be? It's 100% not my ISP because they came out and looked at everything and my connection is fine.

Hello, I live in Australia and I just bought brand new xbox one s and since the purchase I have been having problems with high latency. I've tried every single step in order to decrease the ping. Reset the xbox, use hard wire, reboot the router multiple
times and even go to a friends house to test if the problem was the router. my ping gets constant 260ms, this is unacceptable to online games. I've also did a test on how much was the latency from the xbox to the router and it was only 10ms which I conclude
2 things: either microsoft's servers are bad at the moment or there is a hardware problem with the xbox. If someone from xbox support (or someone who has passed to this problem) could help me I would be grateful

 

Connection Problems - High Latency?

Looks like your numbers are good. What do you mean by ping/jitter creeps up to 30/10ms range? A jitter of 3ms is not bad at all.

Have you tried switching between Best and Normal in preferences when searching for a game? It helps me a lot.

Try speedtest.net for a speedtest and pingtest. Select a server that is at least 500 miles from you.

Also, you can try www.dslreports.net. They have a smoke ping test that pings you over a period of 24 hours from three different servers. That will tell you how good your connection is over a period of time. Look for anomalies.

Also, do not access any bandwidth hogging apps like youtube when you are playing.

Check all the processes and services in your computer. Shutdown processes that are not required.

Also, try the following in different command prompts:

ping -t www.google.com

ping -t 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 or whatever IP your router is assigned.

You can also try a "tracert www.google.com" and then do a ping -t to the various IPs in the hop. If there is any trouble in your network map, it should tell you.

 

If you are using the speedtest on the xbox one then don't worry about it.The speedtast on the console isn't very reliable.
