    High latency/ping on xbox one


    I have recently had gigabit fibre installed and my xbox one S ping has shot up to between 150-200ms using the standard xbox network test

    Down speed is averaging around 700mbs and upload is 800mbs.

    Is there any reason for the high ping? My previous internet was below 30ms, using copper cables and download speeds of 30mbs.

    Also to note, the network is static and I am using the ethernet cable.

    Running speed tests with wifi on my phone shows 15ms ping and with the ethernet in my laptop it's 1-2ms, tested on several sites.

    Edit: forgot to add that Rocket league shows a ping of 50-60ms which is double my previous isp

    The latency test is pinging a server in seattle so you will have a high ping result so unless of course the latency test on the xbox one is a lot higher than what you get when you ping a seattle server on your pc there should not be a problem.

    Since Battlefield 1 uses Electronic Arts servers, you need to contact the Electronic Arts support for that issue.

    You say your PC works fine, and other games don't appear to have the same amount of high ping, I'm assuming it is an isolated problem with the Battlefield service.

    I thought that may be the case, but its not limited to BF1 unfortunately. Just happens that I play that more than anything else currently.

    My xbox still shows up with a high latency (with a wired connection) after running the detailed network statistic option.

    I've currently contacted EA, and lets hope its on their end, but none of my mates seem to be having the same issue.
