High Latency Only on Xbox - Tried All Obvious Solutions

Hi Xbox Community!

I’m having a severe latency issue with my Xbox One in Colorado. I’m effectively unable to play online multiplayer such as CoD as my Xbox latency is ~200 ms (from network test on the console), despite having fast download speeds of 300mbps, upload
speed of 12mbps and zero packet loss. This latency is 6-7 times what it should be (around 20-30 ms), as it was on the same console in my previous home in another state. Also note that the latency on all other devices is much lower (~20 ms); the Xbox is the
only device experiencing such an issue of ~200 ms latency.

I’ve tried all troubleshooting I can find (e.g. resetting modem & Xbox, & directly connecting Xbox to modem by ethernet cable). I’ve also spent 2 hours on the phone with my ISP and none of their troubleshooting options resolved the issue.

My conclusion so far is that as there are no issues with our in-house connection or the connection being provided by our ISP, and the Xbox is the only device in the house with this latency issue, it is likely to be something related to be Xbox / Microsoft
servers in the Colorado area specifically causing the high latency.

Does anyone have any ideas / insight on this which they could share, either to check the source of, or fix, the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree I did the same thing. And even went through step by step on port forwarding which didn't help. Since eyoir in Colorado and I'm in Arizona I wonder if it is a west coast thing? I remember when I would play battlefield there was always more east
coast servers that wear coast. But I believe those were Amazon servers..... Who knows.

I personally have always been directly plugged into the router. I have unplugged router, modem, Xbox for 1,2,5 minutes. I have reset the IP settings numerous times. At this point I think it's just overloaded. Wish Microsoft would come out and tell us.
I mean that's the only thing it can be since everything else has great ping times and no issues.

Yeah I mostly am online at night. 11pm pst so 2am eastern time and the latency issues are still prevalent. The times I have been on during the day it's basically no different than at night. So it doesn't seem to be affected by time.

Hi there! Did you try testing the latency late at night?

Try a factory defaults and pick option to KEEP ALL GAMES AND APPS, then console will restart, after the restart do the SET UP and test, also maybe try to wire direct into router and restart router by unplugging it for 2 mins plug powre back on wait
2 more mins, turn on console and try to sign in and see if any change, also try your cell phone as a hot spot to test and see if same results. After put back on your network and test again
