High latency in Australia. When are local servers coming on line?

I'm seeing a lot of network issues in game, specifically in Destiny Crucible matches. Most of my kills register as post mortem even though on screen I appear to have killed my opponent first. I'm not the best PVP player but the network performance
    certainly doesn't help my game.

I stopped playing Titanfall as network performance is awful.

The stats from XBOX network testing show a latency of over 200ms and a packet loss of 1%.

My ADSL connection comes in via a TP-LINK TD-W8960N. I then run a wired connection to the console via ethernet through an Apple Airport Express which is in Bridge mode.

NAT is Open and otherwise connectivity on the XBOX is good.

A general Speedtest shows a ping of 44ms to a server in Sydney.

I read weeks ago that Azure servers in Sydney were going to provide XBOX Live services but no firm date was in place. Will the Azure servers in Sydney help when they go live?

Is there any other way to improve the connectivity and reduce lag?

    :)

    XBOX ONE latency test

Tested it out today and earlier this week and it's around 180ms latency/ping. When Xbox 1 first came out it was over 200 (highest was about 260). They must be bringing in more servers, while, at least closer to Australia and New Zealand instead of us always
having to connect to the US servers. Heard they're bringing 2 data centres to Australia which should drop the ping/latency MUCH more for us in Australia and New Zealand. It's not entirely our ISP's fault, it's where Microsoft "puts" the Xbox Live servers.

    high packet loss.

I've been on my Xbox 360 all day. Logged onto my Xbox 1 30 minutes ago.

7.44Mbps down 0.73Mbps up Pack loss 0% Latency 222ms wireless strength 100%. It's Saturday night for me. Last night it said 100% pack loss and Latency was blank.

My latency is high cuz NZ'rs and Aussies have to connect to the US servers which are very far away that would explain the high latency. Sometimes it gets as low as 187. Nothing you can do really unless M brings some servers closer to NZ. Heard they're bringing
    2 data centres to Australia.

High latency in Australia. When are local servers coming on line?

    Same here in UK

I can get a 20 ping rate to London but live server are between 160 and 250. I was told that Xbox one was dedicated servers and the services were much better than on Xbox 360.

So I took the plunge and upgraded to Call of Duty AW limited edition box. How disappointed I was to get a zero day edition box with no pre installed AW. So most of the zero day was used with zero play and the connections were just as bad, a dashboard update
and full game download before being able to play. I have just had fibre installed 80 mbit down and 20 mbit and lag still as much as I did on Xbox 360 with ping rates of the above still.

So £400(without Kinect) and a fiber install and lm no better off than on a 360.

I have also noticed that the host still seems to be on the Xbox and not the servers as I have seen connection lost to host when someone switches off.

Please be aware that the shown ping value is not representing your overall network experience as a dedicated server in the USA is pinged for this test and not your nearest one.

If experiencing lag ingame there may be several factors affecting this, especially like input lag caused by picture enhancers on your TV or interferences and encrypting / decrypting when using wireless connections.

Also not all the servers are microsoft servers so for example EA is using their own servers and CoD is not even hosted on dedicated servers but by a peer to peer connection between the players.

Surely if the test is meant to be representative of my region it would test locally and return a result. Why else would it ping a US based server and return a result?

I've read that servers are coming on line in Australia but there has been nothing as yet to confirm this is the case. I'm unclear if this will definitely help games such as Destiny but it hopefully shouldn't make XBOX Live connectivity any worse.

To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing on the TV set that would interfere with game play or network performance. Networking is over a wired connection so encrypting/decrypting doesn't apply.

Today's performance is worse still with 1% Packet Loss but now latency is 298 ms.

High latency in Australia. When are local servers coming on line?

The ping test is to a server in Seattle, Washington

    That's why it's high.

I usually get a ping of 156 and i'm in the UK.

When gaming you will be connected to different servers.

I get pings of only 24ms for Titanfall. So shows that games use different servers.

As for Destiny I believe activision use their own servers so it would be up to activision to supply servers to Australia.

You would probably be better off posting in the activision forums or the bungie.net forums

I have posted this in the Bungie Destiny forums but hadn't had any responses there.

I've read some stories suggesting there may be Destiny servers in Australia but nothing definite.

I'll see about loading Titanfall up again to see what latency is in that game.
