    Hide Notifications During Video Playback


    I was told I should post this here:

    This evening while watching Avengers Endgame, I'm at one of the action scenes, totally into it, and all of a sudden, a notification about a friend coming online pops up.

    I went into the settings and found the notifications section, and noticed there isn't a universal "Hide during video playback" setting. You have to go into each category in the options and select each one.

    Is there a reason why there isn't a universal flag that switches them all to hide during video playback? All of the notification types have this option. It feels like that's an ease of use feature that should be there. Instead of 52 button presses, including directions (currently 13 types with 4 button presses per category) it could be 3-5 depending on the menu placement. It feels a bit excessive.

    Its mainly friends coming online but ALL of my notifications are set to hide banners during video.

    I've just tested a few things.

    Notifications on. Don't show during videos. Still got notifications as you have.

    Notifications off. No notifications during video.

    Notifications on. Online status 'busy'. No notifications during video.

    This has been an issue since October. I'm not sure they're going to fix it. I'm not happy about it either.

    Sorry, there is an option still to Hide notifications during video playback....it's just being over ridden by the latest update. Even After resetting the console, redownloading profiles, resetting the notification setting options. And retrying playing movies
    from a variety of sources. Still to no avail. The only thing that works is to Uncheck the Show Notifications Box....which is NOT how this should work. Quit pushing untested updates...better yet, quit updating just to keep someone in a job. A once a year update
    I can live with. You should take that long to test it. Otherwise, knock it off already! It's beyond stupid. It's unnecessary, pointless, time consuming, anda DATA hog. Unless you, m$, are offering to pay for my Internet usage, then by all means, update away
    and that bandwidth.
