so the issue is they changed the email used to sign into the account as well, microsoft still shows it linked to his gmail when i use the "i dont know my username" feature, but it tells me his gmail is linked to an unknown email

This is a third-party email — it's a Gmail address that I used to log in to my Microsoft account.

I never deleted the account myself, and I did not receive any emails from Microsoft warning me about closure, deletion, or suspicious activity.

When I try to sign in at https://account.live.com/ using my Gmail, it says:
“This Microsoft account doesn't exist.”

However, when I try to create a new Microsoft account using the same Gmail, it says:
“This account already exists.”

This makes me believe the account is either locked, corrupted, or soft-deleted without my knowledge. It is also tied to my Minecraft license, and I no longer have access to that either.

Please help me verify and recover access to this account. I can provide any additional information needed to prove ownership.

Can you let me know the exact error message that you get when you try to sign in your Microsoft account? Is it saying "The Microsoft account you are trying to sign into is linked to a different PSN account." or "You are trying to sign into the wrong Microsoft account"?

If it's saying you are using the wrong Microsoft account, you will have to look for the Microsoft account you linked to your PSN account. It should tell you the gamertag of the account you used. Login to that account. You can then unlink and use a different account if you wish.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. If your brother added a new email to his account and set it as the primary alias, he will need to use that email address and his Microsoft account password to sign in.

If he can't access the new Gmail account, and has forgotten his Microsoft password, he can try recovering his account with the account recovery form: https://account.live.com/acsr

I'm trying now to enter to my Gmail account because the store have that option so I put the password and everything seems to be ok but a new window is opening and says something like "we detect a problem. try to sign in again later"
