hi i got the new xbox one 1 s and i dont have hdmi plug in. in my tv so what do i do

Problem with my TV

So i have an Xbox 360 S with an HDMI cable. It works on all TVs but i recently moved to a new house and i tried to plug my Xbox in. My Xbox turned on but the TV screen just stayed blue ( and, yes, I'm using the HDMI part of the the TV ( Im a foreigner and
I don't know the word )). My Xbox workes on every TV but this one and i don't know what to do. I tried the thing where you press Y + RT but it didn't work. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

 

I have video but no sound

I just got a new Xbox one S. It is all hooked up I got video but there is no audio. I changed all programs on my TV I changed all the programs on the Xbox nothing will bring up the audio. I have DirecTV do I need to get another HDMI cord to plug into my
DirecTV genie mini. I changed out the HDMI cord that came with the Xbox and that didn’t work either. I was told all I should need is the HDMI cord that came with.

 

You might check if any computer monitor you have also has hdmi - and play that way.

I know all my monitors have.

 

Amazon sells converters that will take an hdmi input and conert it to a format that you need. However, doing this will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the video image and quality as I assume that your tv with no hdmi input is either an old tuner tube or a monitor meant
for pc. If it's a monitor that takes the standard vga cable, then you'll be ok. I say Amazon for the converter as I do not shop locally, another story for another time, but Best Buy may carry them....at a significantly increased price.

 

What I can think about, are the following options :

a) Get a new TV - and if you want to take advantage of the xbox one s, get a 4k tv that supports HDR10.

b) If you have a monitor that has DVI, get an adapter that goes from HDMI to DVI or a cable with these same ends. I had to do this with my PS3 when I didn't have a TV, and my only option was a 19" Monitor. Although, you won't have any sound, but you could
use a headset from your controller.

c) If you have your xbox one in your network, and have a computer with windows 10, use the remote play function (previously configured)

 

Excuse my cynicism, but everybody rushes to help karma565608 with his "problem" and I'm looking at the subject title and thinking to myself - he bought the new "xbox one 1 s" but didn't check that his TV had "hdmi plug in" before the fact. Hello? You're
buying into a state-of-the-art console that's 4K-compatible but you're expecting it to play on what? Your cereal carton? And everybody rushes to give good, helpful advice while karma565608 sits back and leaves the Xbox cognoscenti with a string of QUESTION MARKS? Seriously
