ive looked at the xbox support and tried that but it still wont detect, ive rebooted,changed wires. but still nothing but when i plug my seagate to my laptop it says everything is fine.

External hdd no longer usable

Hi Pau1o88,

Sorry if my reply was a bit confusing. The purpose of plugging the hard drive into the computer was just to see if you had any issues with it. This would let us know if there was something physically wrong with the hard drive. After you moved some media
to it, could you use it on your Windows machine with no issues at all? When it is plugged into your Windows box, go ahead and try to watch the video, pictures, or music you copied to it. If you could use it with no issues, then go ahead and format it again
with Windows as NTFS. Plug it back in, and then follow the link below to get it setup with the Xbox again. After this let us know if it's working ok, or still having issues. Also check with the maker of your external hard drive and see if there are any firmware
updates.

USB Memory Stick problems

Hi All,

I am having a problem with a USB memory stick that I have used with my Xbox & I cant find anything on the internet.

The problem I am having is I have a Sandisk Cruzer Edge 16GB Memory Stick & I converted 4GB of the storage space to Xbox storage so I could move a few bits over when I got a new HDD on my Xbox.

Now whenever I want to use the other 12GB on my PC or laptop, it is coming up as an unrecognised storage device with nil storage space & no choice to do anything with it.

As you can imagine this is quite a pain in the backside as I don't exactly want to go out and get another 16GB memory stick as this one has served me well up until now.

Does anybody have any idea what I can do to get the memory stick formatted or anything (the option to do this on my PC or laptop wont let me click on it).

Please somebody help me!

Sorry to hear the trouble you're having with your Xbox One not reading your external storage. Since this first began have you tried a quick re-format of your drive? It's a bit annoying as you'll need to re-install/download your content, but it will often
clear up any detection issues you're having with your Xbox One.

If a re-format doesn't help please give the steps in this
External Storage Troubleshooter. If none of the steps there are helping then let's give another storage device a try to see if there's any change.

Let us know how it goes

I have the same issue, but then between an Xbox Series S and my pc. There seems to be something wrong with the pc not detecting whether the saves have synced properly.

I think it may be due to your Xbox not reading discs. It must have something to do with it, because my Xbox does the same, and it gave the Disc Authorization error, too. I have been meaning to get a new Xbox, because I don't think its the software, or games
causing the problem, but something physically wrong with the Xbox that's causing it.

Ok, if you get something that says Dual or double NAT type, that certainly can cause issue. It has to deal with the way your console is connected to your network. If your console does display something about that, try the troubleshooting page entitled

Double NAT detected in your network settings.

When you get a chance,try that and let us know if that helped!
