So far the general consumer ...
Uh yeah, here's the problem: your argument is *** either way. If it's in the majority, then the general consumer said THEY DO NOT CARE. They were more worried about getting *** over than a stupid feature that they can do in less than sixty seconds over ownership
of the products they buy.

And if THEY WERE in the minority, then MS is jsut moronic and lost out on so much supposed potential.

The MS store is just like every other retailer, they offer incentives for you to order from them. The MS Store and here are separate entities, they don't really have anything in common besides that they sell MS products, so don't confuse their offer as being
an official offer, meaning it should have applied to digital sales.

3. This is in reply to you Burst

@Hairy People are upset with the digital prices in the Titanfall thread BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PAY MORE to buy the format with the features they want. Something they could've easily avoided if physical copies retained the same function as digital copies.

They are not forced to pay that price, How many more times, just because it is their format of choice, They do still have the choice. No-One, as stated before is forced to purchase anything.

You saying the physical copy from Amazon is £18 cheaper is entirely irrelevant to someone who wants instant switching of their games on Xbox One. You seem to think just because its something YOU personally can take or leave, others can too. I have zero physical
copies of games as a result of the reversal and fully intend not to buy ANY as they don't take advantage of what the console can do.

Whether or not someone wants instant switching between games, is a matter of personal choice. What is not a matter of personal choice is where you purchase that version from. I.E. Microsoft Only. But more on that at the end

I wouldn't even say anything about this if the console wasn't revealed as having this base feature which is now separated by MONEY for everyone who still wants said feature.

Then don't say it, because again, no-one is forcing a reply from you, just like no-one is forcing a reply from me to you. Again, those features, judging by Microsoft's reaction to them, were more harmful to them as a company,
than good, Again, they did not have to remove them, But once again i state, "THEY MADE THE CHOICE"

So far the general consumer has either lost money with the reversal by buying the more expensive version without the preorder bonuses or forced into buying the cheaper option without the features they want because they don't want to contend with the digital
prices. Were exactly is the "win" in this equation? Too me it looks like people are compromising to fit there specific wants, where as it wasn't necessary beforehand. Way to be pro consumer Mr. Union Rep. /excessive amounts of sarcasm.

The General Consumer has lost no money in this. They still have the same prices for the same games, they got last generation, So, sorry to inform you Burst, They have lost no money. Again, to go digital is a choice, and that choice
is motivated by what you want, All i said was while i could get a game for £18 cheaper for physical, i don't mind spending 20 seconds getting up to change a disc, for that saving. Heck if people are that lazy now, they cannot even get up to change a disc,
then they know the prices and know the score.

Word of mouth is a very strong thing. With every positive MS put out about the original Xbox One there was always more people there to bad mouth it, thus making its OVERALL perception negative. You can keep acting like it was the vast majority of consumers
all you want but as they say "One rotten apple spoils the bunch". Multiply that by how many people have internet and put anonymity into the mix to create one big crapstorm.

Word of Mouth is a very Powerful thing, But so is a company like Microsoft. Are you telling me that if a small minority (Using Dude's Words), didn't like something you did, you would change just for them. Get real Burst. The reason
they changed is because of predicted sales, and pre-orders. It is that simple.

On to the subject about digital and the original policy. The original policy, may have help some people out concerning instant switching of games, But that is the only plus it gave them. Where-as the cons far outweighed them.
As you pointed out with your sarcasm, i am a union rep, and as a union rep, looks after the rights of everyone, and removing every persons rights to do what they want with their physical media, so a few that want instant switching is something worth fighting
for. That was the main bug bear. Rights that have been ours by law for many, many years

Because a small minority like yourself Burst, will apparently, and this is from before the consoles release, and beyond, are willing to take anything Microsoft says as the best thing since slice bread. The policy regarding physical
-> digital games (24 hour check-in), also had conitations about not being able to play if internet was an issue. Again, why would you make a system that does not do what it is supposed to, if you cannot connect to the internet for whatever reason.

I will give you the reason as to why it is expensive on the Microsoft Store, it is because Microsoft are greedy. On Origin, Titanfall normal is £44.99, The Complete pack of game and season pass is £59.99. That is Direct from EA.
But on Amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronic-Arts-Titanfall-Online-Game/dp/B00E9G3B48) the game is £33.85 for the digital version. Blimey Burst,
Can't you see what a closed system does for digital sales. Don't expect to believe that Microsoft are giving what the store would normally get from the sale, Like lighting, storage, wages, distribution, transport, etc, etc, To the Publishers, because i am
sure as hell Amazon are not doing so, yet they can sell the digital version for £34.

It is greed that keeps you paying the price that "YOU" pay Burst, not from you, but the company you support so avidly and doggedly. And you believe some of the lies and propoganda they put forth, that is fine, people do all the
time. But please Burst. Really.

5. If that is the only thing you can pick out of my posts, then i count that as a blessing.

And it's not the umpteenth time, but i get your point.

But i look at it (personally, as i know someone who will quibble about it), i saved £18, and all i have to do for that saving is get out of my chair. Then that is all well and good. And due to EA's graph of digital vs Physical sales, people agree. While
Digital has become one of their major forms of income, for EA. Infact overtaking physical when there is a lol in new games

But when a major game is released, Physical sales, spike way above digital. They only thing making digital popular for EA, is their Android games with MT, Social, DLC for their games, like COD, BF4,Titanfall, etc. But not complete games.

It wasnt the only thing, but with respect to yourself and others, we both know where each other stands on this and i really cant be bothered going all over it again. I may have save $5-$15 on some of my games but i would be forever frustrated about always
having a game disc in the drive and having to remove that and change it out whenever i want skip from one game to another. Sitting for long sessions on one game is becoming a thing of the past for me. I may spend 40 min picking over AC4 on the collect missions
or assasination missions then switch to a game of Forza for a few laps then over to Titanfall when a friend jumps on. Its just a pointless excercise for myself who will never sell that disc or care to collect the plastic case they come in. All my 360 game
cases are in landfill. Me being able to watch a bluray movie on the X1 yet still switch from game to movie to game and back to movie is something that disc based games can never give me in the current set up. Lazyness has nothing to do with it.

7. I understand, i really do.

But forever frustrated for changing a disc........... I don't know how old you are Rippen, but you seem old enough to have seen a few consoles launch. And you talk like someone with some age, and put decent points across, the same as Burst, and Ice, and
many others on this forum.

But in the 30 odd years of my gaming, i have never become frustrated at having to change a game. Maybe it's just me and i am more patient. Remembering the loading times of the Spectrum and the C64.

Well for me it's just the nostalgic feel of buying my games in physical form. After I bought my first 6 games I looked at my little stack and realized that my games were finally adding up. Besides if the internet ever goes out, then I still get to play without
being signed in to XLive

Yes @spuds I've been around since Atari and C64. Frustration comes from having to install a disc yet still needing that disc. 360 wasn't a problem because I didn't need to install and switching from one game to another or to apps so quickly wasn't a feature
on 360 unless you had arcade games or older on demand games. But it always grounded my gears that when I did install a game usually MP games Red Dead or BFBC2 or bf3 I always wanted to just load it up without going to dig up the disc.

So basically it comes down to " don't make me install and run something off a HDD without giving me an option to not use the disc"

If they somehow figure out a way to allow disc to be installed on X1 and not require disc again, I'll be straight down to the retail shop to pick up a cheaper game on disc ( in some cases) and avoid a lengthy Download time ( my Internet speed is Pooh) 5hrs
to DL Titanfall.

10. I always thought some sort of QR code system would be ideal. Scan the code and an option is given to leave the license tied to the disc or tied to your xbox one.

So anyone could make an informed choice. And those that don't mind losing their physical media rights can do so. And those that wasn't a digital system can have there.

Then both sides could take advantage of every offer available. Although I could tell you. That won't happen because xbox one digital sales would fall drastically over night.

It would seem a simple but effective system

Adam Ortho speaks a little towards the point I was making

"It's chilling," he said, recalling a quote from one developer he spoke with saying this issue "represents a total breakdown of how our industry fundamentally functions and foreshadows possible dark times ahead. Internet toxicity has the power to sh**

REALLY, STOP TELLIN PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM HOW GREAT THE X1 IS. IT FEELS LIKE YOU ALL WORK FOR MICROSOFT. MY SYSTEM WONT READ THE DISC INSERTED AND SO I WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS TO GET MINE BACK WITH FED EX. SO I GO TO THE FED EX STORE AT OFFICE MAX, AND I
KNOW ITS NOT A FED EX STORE BUT COME ON MAN THEY DIDNT HAVE A BOX TO FIT THE X1 SAFELY WITH THE BUBBLE WRAP, SO THE GIRL SAYS YOU CAN BUY ONE OF OUR BOXES LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE STORE. I LEFT THE BRICK AT THE COUNTER HOPING SOMEONE WOULD STEAL IT. I LOOKED
AT THE BOXES THEY HAD TO OFFER, 18X18X12 14X14X14 12X WHO CARES AT THIS POINT. SO I CALL MICROSOFT WHEN I GET HOME AND I AM TALKING TO THE GIRL ON THE OTHER LINE AND SHE SAYS WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU IN 24 HOURS. SO CALL BACK TOMORROW.REALLY? I ASK TO TALK
TO A MANAGER AND I GET REDIRECTED TO JOE, WHO IS COOL. AND STILL WONT WAIVE THE 15$ TO GET ADVANCED SHIPPING.(GET A SYSTEM BEFORE YOU SEND YOURS IN.) SO I TALK TO HIS BOSS AND SAYS THE SAMETHING. 1:35:40 MINS ON THE PHONE. I SAY, ILL JUST USE THE REGULAR
SHIPPING METHOD. FOR A PRODUCT THAT IS WARRANTIED FOR 1 YEAR THEY EXPECT YOU TO STOP PLAYING YOUR 500$ (MINUS GAMES) PRODUCT AND SHIP IT YOURSELF FOR AN ADITIONAL 15$ DOLLARS AND A 500$ HOLD ON YOUR CREDIT CARD. THAT IS BAD BUISNESS. SO I CHOSE TO SEND IT
IN EXPADITED FOR 10.50$ AND WAIT 14 DAYS FOR A DISC DRIVE ISSUE. WHEN I HAD THE YLOD FOR THE PS3 THEY SENT ME A BOX AND 3 GAMES TO MAKE IT SMOOTH OVER. WHY DID I BUY THIS NEXT GEN GAMING SYSTEM? TO PAY 15$ MORE DOLLARS TO GET THERE 4 MONTH OLD PRODUCT FIXED
DUE TO THERE COMPANY WANTING TO RELEASE TOO SOON AND INSTALING A RUSHED DISC DRIVE THAT THEY DIDNT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHEN I GET MY CONSOLE BACK, IF I GET THE BRICK BACK? I AM GETTING THE NOT TO MENTION SYSTEM.

Hey MS, I thought you WANTED us to embrace all digital, but you don't act like it...

I'll do you a favor and just assume you CHOOSE not to comprehend.
Let's break it down then.

The vast majority of the overall consumers never even knew, and still don't know what the original MS vision was.
They are a huge company with a massive P.R. department. They could have stated their vision.

That is because it was hijacked by a relatively small number of sniveling self entitled scared gamers who were able to decide for the rest of us what we would see and get.
Relatively small? Compared to the masses that were all for their original vision? Wait...you stated,"The vast majority of the overall consumers never even knew, and still don't know what the original MS vision was."; if you don't know what you're missing,
how can you have an argument or be displeased at the end result? What am I not comprehending? Please enlighten me.

Peace, J.R.

Hey MS, I thought you WANTED us to embrace all digital, but you don't act like it...

What's a shame is that a gang of scared negative cynical internet hate mongers forced MS to water down their vision.

What should have happened is MS announced the vision, got it out to the consumer and then we voted with our wallets. Instead this small gang of *** decided for us all what we would get and what we wouldn't.

Shame.
