Here we go again. Another Achievement system is down.

This is a getting to be a broken record. Every week it seems Xbox Live goes down, and the achievement system gets broken. Again, the Xbox Live service is down as of 8/14/14 saying achievements not unlocking, and cannot view achievement progress.

Thousands of people just went through a month of this broken achievement situation, and its happening again. After the same thing starts to happen with Xbox Live , after about the 5th time, I would seriously think about putting in someone else to take
over responsibility of the Live service for Xbox One. These developers they have now, are not very competent. Not a week has gone by without Xbox Live having a major core problem on the Xbox One.

Microsoft, please consider a development team restructure of the Live Service because you aren't losing customers due to the competition as much as you are losing them due to a horrible gaming experience with Live on the Xbox One

Server connection lost! Why does this constantly happen?? Why doesn't Microsoft fix it?

 

It is extremely frustrating. No one can deny that. And they are working hard to get the servers under control.

During these Service Alerts please try to remember that the Xbox Team is trying to synchronize more servers than the entire United States had in the year 2000. This is no easy task. Also they have the best people on it that you could possibly want.

 

Thank you for your comment. However, it really doesn't properly define what has been going on with the Live Service the past few months. Technology advances, so it really has no bearing on what went on 14 years ago. We simply cannot keep using that as
a scapegoat argument. Even though they may be working hard at getting the servers to work, I hate to say it, but I stand by my comment about the current team responsible for the Live Service. The Xbox Live Experience people have, is what is important. I
promise you, heads should/may be turning when one of the core features keeps breaking as often as it does. They have never been upfront and honest about the achievement problems. Never. I'm just a realist to the situation. I cannot give a pass to them
on the basis of a year 2000 Server count difference. With all due respect, because the entire product is based around the Live Service working consistently.

 

I by no means am saying that it is acceptable. What I am saying, this is the turn of a console generation. And that they are attempting to make XBL completely synchronized in which case services are may be effected. And the server count, additional features
and so on. Evolution has hiccups. And as great as Xbox Live is, it is not perfect. Issues during the turn of a console generation is to be expected

 

The achievement system is one of the core, overarching features of the Xbox ecosystem. For achievements to be broken like this, as much/often as they have been lately, it's understandable that people would be very upset. Growing pains are understandable
in a new console, and everyone appreciates the amazing progress that the console and dashboard have made each and every month since launch. But being realistic: the console has been out for nearly nine months. This isn't the start of the year anymore. Something
as intrinsic as the achievement system should be expected to function correctly by this point...

And if not, a good chunk of their manpower should sensibly be devoted to fixing it ASAP. As much as people want all the cool new social/snap features announced for the upcoming dash updates, it's safe to say they'd be glad to wait on those features IF it
meant the achievement system will function properly again. The lack of in-depth or proper answers from devs is also disheartening, as even a simple "we're trying to fix it, and here's the holdup" would do a world of good to quell antsy players.

 

The excuses from the apologists just don't cut it with me I'm afraid. The Xbox One experience is shambolic at best. Today's Achievement mess has finally moved me to the PS4. The 360 is the best console ever. The XO is by far the worst. It's incredible that
Microsoft couldn't build on what they did with the 360 without mangling everything they touch on the new machine.

 

I had to put up with this for eight days since the start of august, I had a load of bugged achievements, I was pretty disappointed I must say but on the 8/8/2014 me and my friend had our bugged achievements pop up when we where playing a completely different
game, I have just had another bugged one on 'Watch Dogs' for hacking ten players successfully, it remains at 100% just like the other ones.

My guess will be just to wait it out, I'm sure Microsoft are doing everything they can and about your bugged achievements, I would not worry about them, nothing is lost.

 

How can i see the system status of the achievment Servers?

 

This is affecting the 360 and the One.

 

Growling, the caveat with the 360, is that it is unlocking achievements fine, because it does not require an online verification to unlock them. The 360, will unlock an achievement, and in a couple days, assuming they fix the achievement problem, upload
the achievements you got to the Live system so it updates on that end. The Xbox One will not do that. In fact, if you get achievements while the Live service is down right now... , you have to rely, and pray that the Live service runs an achievement verification
on your profile later, because only then will you get credit for an achievement. Trust me too, it is not a 24 hour thing. I had some stuck for a couple months. I had thought they made a breakthrough last week, but they simply just forced an achievement
verification, put a bandaid on the Live System, and as of last night, its bleeding again. You do not get achievements to pop while offline on the Xbox 1, although, it seems to pop them quicker than it does when you are online, while the Achievement server
is down. You may wait weeks.

 

Got three achievements today and got 300 gamerscore. At least I would have if the achievements weren't down, will we be credited with the achievements we got when it was down? Otherwise I will have to S rank all of Metal Gear solid v: ground zeroes all
over again

 

You have achieved them, they will pop up Soroxas. The fact remains, that you did S rank all of your missions, and that is stored on your game cloud. In which, your XBL account will recognize it and your achievement will pop up once they sort this all out.
All will be ok, stay positive and happy gaming.

 

What Twigleaf said is true; Microsoft did a forced system sweep for verifications last week. It's why countless people, including myself, had our glitched achievements show up properly all at the same time one day. Thankfully for me it wasn't a huge number
of them (ones from Guacamelee, which I played during the last major outage. And then one from Dead Rising 3 from a month ago.) All of mine showed up, and I was relieved. Friends of mine had ones show up that they'd been missing for months.

I was hoping this was the end of major unlock woes for a while. It was not. I'm not sure if these system-wide forced verification sweeps could be done on a regular basis, maybe weekly, until the issues are resolved. If so, that could be at least some kind
of makeshift fix. I'm thankful, at least, that these 100% achievements waiting for verification retain their original timestamps. So when they do unlock, they don't mess up the order/time they should have popped. Which for me is major, so I appreciate that.

But in any case, being able to track your achievement progress in real-time has always been an intrinsic part of the process. Not waiting weeks or months to have your data be accurate. I'm not concerned about my gamerscore being higher or showing up sooner,
nor do I care to brag to anyone. I just want my own gaming history to be accurate; for such a vital feature of the games to function correctly. -_-
