Helpful info for those using the "Play Anywhere" feature of Windows 10

Alright for those of you who are having issues playing your Xbox games that are part of the "Play Anywhere' program here are some things you need to know.

1. The Windows 10 Anniversary update is required in order for these titles to be able to be played.

To figure out if you have the Windows 10 Anniversary Update you can get the info by pressing the Windows key + R and typing the command "winver" and looking to see if you have Windows version "1607 build 14393.0"

If you do not have that version showing then you do not have the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

If you need to get the update you can download it by doing a few simple steps.

2. Go to start (Or Windows Key) > Settings > Update & Security

3. Click Check for updates. (If this does not work please scroll down this same page till you fine the option "Looking for info on the latest updates?" and then please click "Learn More"

If this does not solve the issue with your Play Anywhere title, take a look at the spec requirements for the title to make sure your PC meets the specs required to run the game.

Now if the game meets the specs and you still do not see the download option do not panic. When in the Windows Store app on your PC select the area where your account picture is located and click on this and find the option named "My Library" and select
this. From there you will want to find the name of the game you're looking for which should appear under the Games section as your scrolling in your library and you will want to check to see if it has beside the item a down arrow with a line directly underneath
the arrow. Click on this to start the installation for this arrow symbol is what they use to symbolize download. This should solve the issue you're having with access to your Play Anywhere titles.

Xbox Play Anywhere

Hi. No, you cannot download the game to your computer, as Xbox Play Anywhere applies only to digitally downloaded games. You have the disc version, so if you want to play on Windows 10, you would have to purchase the game again. More info on Xbox Play Anywhere

Not all games on the Xbox One are able to be played on Windows 10. Only games that have Play Anywhere specifically enabled are able to be purchased once and played on the Xbox One or on Windows 10. Also you would have to purchase a digital version of the
game to be able to take advantage of a play anywhere title.

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. In reference to your question, if the game was purchase for Windows 10 the license will only work on the PC. Take Forza 4 for instance, this is know as a play anywhere games. Check out this link:

Xbox Play Anywhere. If you Purchase an Xbox Play Anywhere digital game, you will be able to play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC at no additional cost.

Thanks for the reply. In reference to the issue, you will not be able to use this feature if you are not on the same home network. If you would like to

play anywhere games and access your Xbox profile, I recommend the
Xbox App for Windows 10.

You can use only those xbox games included in play anywhere and in that case only the game saves are available to you. To play the games in windows 10 you need to download the games again
