    A 48 hour xbox live gold membership came with my halo 3, so I got xbox live (which was a pain to get working) and then got my gold, I was able to join a party and stuff, but It wouldn't let me play online, It's not with one game either, every game that has
    xbox live that I've tried to play has not let me play online, there's no error message, but it just doesn't let me play online, When I start an online game it says only friends can come, and joining an online game isn't even an option, and in my profile it
    says that I have gold, please help me fix this problem, I don't wanna buy a 1 month or even 1 year subscription and have it do the same thing.

    My headset was working for both game sound and party chat now not working for game sound and only shows settings for party chat

    Subscriptions & services     page is showing a Gold subscription, then you will want to

    remove your profile and re-add it     on your Xbox 360. However, if it's not showing up there, you will need to
    contact us via phone or chat support for further assistance.

    you can try to recover your gamertag. if you have a possibility try to download the game into a different storage drive (usb disc for example).
