Help!!!

My sons xbox isn't working properly. When we put it on there is an issue with graphics. The stuff on the screen, writing or pictures has jagged edges around it. The box still has a green light, we have tried replacing the cable in case it was a connection
issue. Tried the support on here and followed their suggestions but still its the same. Anyone any idea what it is?

Hey there, have you made sure that your display settings are set correctly set to the type of TV you have as well as using the right type of cable with your display settings?

Have you followed this support article to try and troubleshoot the issue:

Post back with everything you've tried.

 

I've checked the settings on the tv and they are all ok. I did have it set up using the component cable so replaced that. Then changed and used an HDMI cable. I've tried resetting the consoles display settings. It is still the same! Sometimes when you initially
switch it on it can look ok but within a minute it has changed back to the flickering jagged picture. This occurs whether there is a game in or out. We have just noticed that when we switch the console off for a few seconds after (maybe 30 seconds) the green
light slowly flashes on and off.

 

I can only suggest trying it on another TV to see if it's the console or TV having the issues to try and narrow the problem. Sometimes when using these consoles on HD TV's if the refresh rate isn't high enough on the TV it can produce jagged lines as your
describe.

The blinking green light means you have background downloads enabled which puts the consoles into a low power mode, see full info on that here:
