    Help! Xbox one X device control.


    Hi all,

    So, I have tried to contact MS about this issue multiple times but the chat hosts don't seem to be able to comprehend my issue. To be fair its highly specific but here goes:

    I had an OG Xbox one and Kinect (day one!) and this was the hub of my media set up. I could control TV, AV receiver and Cable box via Kinect.

    So the upgrade to xbox one X (day one again!)came around and I ditched the Kinect and use the inbuilt IR blaster.

    However the control of my AV receiver is so buggy.

    The set up uses the exact same IR code as before (Its a Pioneer model VSX) and during set up in the device control tab it works (mute command, volume up both go through fine).

    Then as soon as I leave this menu all I can get it to do is turn off and mute. The toggle on and volume up/down commands do nothing!

    I have tried an IR extender, no help.

    What on earth is going on? I have a feeling its a OS issue and I'm doomed, but if anyone can help it would be appreciated!

    vms 1100 is mounted on wall behind tv... inputed all of the Verizon FiOS info into OneGuide setup vms1100 through device control... and still one guide channel select is not working through Xbox one x .. please help

    Have you ever configured your Xbox One to
    control your soundbar with IR    ? The Xbox One X has a built-in IR emitter, so it could possibly be toggling the soundbar power.

    Check here: Settings > TV & OneGuide > Device control

    The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

    Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

    First let's try to update the controller's firmware:

    1. Power on your Xbox One X controller and press the Xbox button. Select "System" and then "Settings."

    2. Click on "Devices &

    streaming

    " and then "Accessories." Select the controller that you wish to update.

    3. Click on "Device info" and select the "Firmware version" box.

    4. Click "Update Now" and your Xbox One X controller will begin to update.

    I advise you testing the controller on other devices as well!

    If it still does not work You can order a repair, if the warranty of 90 days is still available!
