Help - Xbox One shuts off only when trying to play a game

I'm facing some trouble with my Xbox One and I hope someone can help me here. I had some electrical issues in my flat yesterday (neutral wire failed, so high voltage fluctuations), I unplugged my Xbox One as soon as I realised this. I had it fixed in the
evening and since then, my Xbox is behaving strangely.

It works fine watching TV through it or Netflix. Whenever I try to launch a game (say Battlefield 4) it gets me to the menu, where I can choose to launch a campaign. Then I get the loading screen but at that point, exactly when the game itself starts, the
console turns off and the power brick light turns red. I can start the console back up normally and the same thing keeps happening. This happens with all my games (NFS Rivals, FIFA 15).

I tried investigating - unplugged everything but the TV and Xbox from the surge protector (I have only one power socket near the TV, so I have to use a surge protector) and the same thing happened.

I then managed to get things arranged such that I could plug the Xbox into a separate power socket (can't keep it that way permanently though) and everything worked fine. After this, my Xbox continued working fine, I played NFS for an hour, even after I
plugged it back into the same socket as the TV. A few hours later, the same problem started happening.

SO it looks like the socket is unable to provide enough power when the Xbox One's load increases (I assume that it will start drawing more power when a game is started). Or could it be a fault with the power brick?

XBOX One Shutting off instantly

hi my xbox one shuts off instantly when i tried to play my games such as fifa 15 wwe2k15.however it only shut down if i tried to play a macth or something it didnt if it was only on menu or homescreen. so can u please help me just bought it and it didnt

Xbox turning off by itself.

My Xbox turns off and has the red light when it turns off. But it only seems to turn off when I play certain games. Skyrim and Resident Evil 6 causes it to shut off but any other game the Xbox doesn't turn off. Please help me with this.

I'm sorry to hear that. Here are the steps that you can try for your concern.

Solution 1. Do you have an external hard drive plugged in to the console right now?

If yes, can you unplug it and Please Turn off console > (press and hold power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

Once done, please check if the issue still persist while the external hard drive is unplugged.

Solution 2. Clear your local save games file and persistent storage.

Make sure that there’s no disc in the disc tray.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.

Select Settings > All Settings

Choose System > Storage.

Now select Clear local saved games.

Choose Yes to confirm.

Restart your console

Solution 3. Try to do a soft factory reset without removing any games and apps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System > Console info > reset then keep my games and apps.

NOTE: This will delete the profiles on your account, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

I have been trying to fix this issue for weeks, I find that it only shuts off while playing video games, Like R6. When it shuts off the screen does a weird zap image and the cords, Xbox one and power brick are HOT. I don't have the money for a new Xbox,
I also don't want to erase my data soooo

Yeah i was having this problem for a few tries but then i just shut off my xbox and kept putting the disc in and it only took like 3 minutes to work. Try shutting off your xbox with the disc inside when it says unrecognized. It might help!

This happens to me too, but only when playing co-op in Borderlands 3. The system will just shut off, it's not actually overheating, it only thinks it's overheating.

Try toggling the performance mode either on or off. Sometimes just switching this will keep it going without shutting off.

What would cause mine to only overheat when I'm trying to play a game with the disc and it comes up and says that its shutting off to protect from low ventilation and don't do it when just playing youtube
