Help! Xbox One S Player

    Help! Xbox One S Player


    I had the original Xbox One and upgraded to the Xbox One S 500 GB battlefield 1 edition in 2016.

    DVD, Blu Ray and 4k could all be played no problem.

    In September after I got back from a vacation there was an update from the Xbox Player which I downloaded.

    After the download I inserted a new DVD which flickered on/off video feed every second making it impossible to watch.

    At first I thought "Oh, well. It was just a bargain bin movie. Guess it was broke."

    Since then I've tried playing my other movies as well as deinstalling the app and reinstalling it.

    About 90 % of my DVDs are unplayable, half of my blu rays don't play. Luckily all my 4K still play.

    I tried the same discs on my friends ps3 and the dvds and blu rays work...and the same ones worked on my console a few months ago as well. Anyone have experience with this?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Are your friend on an Xbox One and you're on an Xbox Series X|S or vice versa? If yes, that's the reason why your friend is not visible. It was confirmed by EA that players on Xbox Series X|S can't be able to play on a player that is on Xbox One console.

    The game is a cross gen game, which means Xbox Series X|S players can play with Xbox One players.

    it happened before in this forum that players bought games for the newer Xbox Series X/S thinking that they can play them on the Xbox One S.

    Check the covers of the games if there stands X/S on it. If so they don't work on Xbox One S.
