Help xbox live gold membership doesnt work

the fact that i was able to play for the last week with no gold membership and that my sister doesnt have a gold membership, yet her profile is fine for xbox live leads me to believe that that is not correct

I dont know if this will help but I also remember the day it started happening. My xbox live gold membership ran out. I used a two day trial until that ran out. Then on Monday I bought a new gold membership on the xbox (not a code from the store) then
I went onto madden it worked for 10 minutes then got disconnected from the ea servers and ive been having the problem since. I can sometimes get it to work but when I turn my xbox off and turn it back on it doesnt work anymore. I really appreciate the help.

If you go into your membership tab in the games & apps section you should be able to check if you have a an active gold membership by selecting Xbox Live Gold if it shows up there, obviously if it doesnt show up that answers your question.

i tried buying xbox live gold but it just goes back to membership options like berzerkcammando says but it doesnt show any error message,maybe its my birthdate settings ahh someone please help me

sharing Xbox live gold membership only works on the Xbox One. unfortunately on Xbox Live, everyone will need a gold membership to be able to talk to each other and play games together.
