***Help***Xbox IP Address inconsistent with router......

Hey guys,

So for the past few weeks I have a serious battle with the NAT issue (strict/moderate). I was able to easily and permanently fix the problem by setting up a dmz.

Anyways, so I am house-sitting now and am having the same issue; Strict Nat. I go into the router settings to set up a dmz again, but the router is displaying a different IP address for the xbox. In the router settings the xbox is labeled as 192.168.1.53
but in the xboxs' settings it says its IP is 198.168.0.100. I can't set up a dmz because when I put in the IP of 198.168.0.100 it claims it is invalid.

Any thoughts?.......

I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?

If you have a router, give the xbox one a static IP address, make sure it's 'doled' out by it's MAC address.

Do that and if it's still giving you problems like that, toss that static IP on a DMZ.

 

Since the router claims the Xbox is set to IP 192.168.1.53 why don't you change the IP manually on your Xbox to 192.168.1.53 since they use a different subnet "1" instead of "0" and then add 192.168.1.53 to the DMZ

 

Tried that.....Xbox can't connect to internet after manually changing the IP. Error reading "Cannot Get an IP Address"

 

have you tried the automatic IP settings to see if it can connect ?
