[Help] Xbox Dashboard Freeze while Disk Install

Hello There!

I was installing COD: Ghost from a disk today, my Xbox froze when the install was at 8% (Controller doesn't do anything, had new batteries). I then hit the power button and now it's blinking slowly on and off. I know it's like that because it's waiting to
finish the install, which I'll never finish since the console is frozen.

I don't know if I should hold the power button down for 15 seconds and unplug it. However I don't know if it'll damage my Xbox One. If anyone knows how to fix it or if I can shut it down (15 seconds) without it damaging anything.

Freezing problems with my Gears of War Xbox 360 Slim

There are a few steps you can take to locate the problem:

Install the game that made the Xbox 360 freeze. With larger games like Gears of War 3, your Xbox 360 can overload when reading the massive amount of data coming from the disk. Download the game to your hard drive by putting the disc in the tray and then
pressing Y at the game's frame on the Xbox 360 dashboard. Choose "Install Game" and then wait while the information is downloaded. With the disc still in the tray, try playing again.

Check the disc for damage. If your disc has been severely scratched or scuffed, it could cause your game to freeze up. Hold the disc under a bright light, checking for even the smallest of scratches. If you notice a few scratches, try loading a different
game. If the Xbox 360 doesn't freeze, you'll know the damaged disk was the problem.

xbox 360 freezes on dashboard and in game

When i turn on my xbox it goes through the xbox 360 intro fine but when it loads dashboard sometimes it freezes or when i try to navigate through the dashboard it freezes. If it does not freeze there when i go to play a game a couple of seconds in game it
then tells me it can't read disk form there it takes me to dashboard and it freezes. When it does not freeze and try to run game again same thing happens as well as if i try other games as well. Can someone please help me out?

You can either hold the power button down or (if that doesn't work) unplug it. Then when the console restarts for you, you can reinstall the game.

I tried it, before I was worried that my Xbox One would be damaged (software side) and it worked!

I had to install the game on my system and it helped cut back thr freezing.

It would still freeze every now and than if i played for hours on end.

I would recommend trying to install it first and see if that helps or getting the disk cleaned. Since it is a big open world game that usually has a hand in it freezing.

The xbox freezes up when im playing battlefield 3 and i cant even finish a game anymore, it has also started occuring when im playing the MoH warfighter beta, not as much but some times.. Never froze while in dashboard or such (as much as i can remember).
And since i pointed out that the game freezes during the time i play MoH it's probably not the disk...
