Help, Xbox 360 Crash Bandicot Wrath of Cortex

Hello, I recently purchased Crash Bandicot Wrath of Cortex for my Xbox 360. Unfortunately every time I try to load the game I get this error message:

The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again.

I've downloaded the game a dozen times now and the same error each time. Any help would be appreciated.

This is an original Xbox game, does your console have an official Xbox 360 hard drive?

Backwards compatibility on the 360 requires an official hard drive, as only official hard drives contain the emulation software.

 

Hmm, that's a good question. The internal hard drive came with the system for sure, but my add on is most likely after market. For what it's worth, I've tried downloading Crash to each with no luck. Thank you for the reply my friend.
