Help with Slow Download Speeds and Streaming and on Xbox One X

Hey,

I have a 100/40 Mb/s plan but never reach on anything, but my One X connected via cat 6 directly to modem almost never go above 10Mb/s and usually stays around 1 mb/s when downloading updates and up to 6Mb/s if i am lucky.

On my Laptop connected by AC wifi I get a stable 20-30Mb/s (around 3 MB/s) when downloading the witcher 3 from http://assets1.xboxlive.com as
a test.

I use UPnP and my NAT is always open, the xbox speed test usually shows up to 30 Mb/s download and 40 Mb/s upload.

Other speed tests show up to 80Mb/s download and 40Mb/s upload when testing servers in Australia and around 40Mb/s download and 30Mb/s upload when testing to Seattle in the US.

You cant even watch Mixer on the Xbox because the quality is so low, however it works on my phone and Laptop fine.

Also have an issue with suffering from the occasional lag spikes and getting around 1-10% Packet loss at all sorts of random times day or night and this can show every few seconds for up to an hour. My games usually have a Ping of around 60 using in game
network stats.

Any help to get any of this fixed would be great

Your xbox will have slow downloading speeds if someone is streaming something on the same network. Make sure no-one is watching Netflix or something and your speeds will be much faster.

I share your frustration in terms of your low speeds when both streaming or downloading.

My internet speed is very high and yet still...if i go onto the dashboard and select a game to download or have an update my speed doesnt go above 36mbps. But yet if i go do a speed check on my xbox my stats are perfect and i should be flying. Thus leaves
me to believe its more of an xbox issue when in the store.

Other than your port forwarding and or static ip address, theres not much you can do unless your router is high in traffic with other household connections ?

I haven't with my current router, I used to need to do it due to certain features not working from NAT.

All the right ports are open when looking at the UPnP settings page of my router.

I don't know a heap about networking, but if the ports are opening correctly using UPnP, how would forwarding them manually increase download speed or prevent Packet loss??

I will look at forwarding it all tonight regardless.

I know it sounds terrible but perhaps if the problem is not solved look at a different carrier for service, it can make a big difference, we sometimes have noticed a difference between two carriers internet service even if it is the same speed package.
I think the big difference can be if the service is being provided by fiber optic is super awesome for sure, definitely not worth paying a hefty price for 100/40 and not getting anywhere near it. Also sometimes they will refurbish the modem/router and they
have something faulty or old about then and need replaced, I would definitely see if the service provider will replace those for you. I hope this helps, have a great day.
