Help with mic

my mic has recently randomly quit working, I can hear people but cannot communicate unless I shove the jack in my controller which I don't like doing because it's a ton of effort for a few seconds of communication. I've tried the mic on my computer and phone
and it works just fine and when I hard reset my Xbox it worked for about a minute then quit. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to plug your mic in BEFORE you boot up the game.

You might have to exit the application before plugging your mic in.

Is your 360 mic compatible with the X1?

Also, check your NAT settings. For full chat functions, it needs to be in Open setting. I just discovered I was in Moderate setting last night, which was causing all kinds of chat issues. Here's the Chat Issues support thread I used, to get it straightened

I'm sorry to hear about the mic issues. I recommend running through the steps listed on the

headset/mic troubleshooter to start with. If you have another controller, try using your headset on that controller as well to see what happens.

none of this has helped since I have tried all the methods earlier

 

Ahh okay. You didn't mention having tried any troubleshooting tips in your original post so I wasn't sure and that guide is the place to start anyways. Do you have another Xbox One controller that you can test your headset/mic on? What kind of mic is it?

I do not have an extra controller and it's the stereo headset by Microsoft

 

Gotcha. At this point, I would recommend replacing either your headset or your controller so you can narrow down where the issue lies. Do you have a friend that owns an Xbox One that would let you borrow their controller maybe? That would be an easy way
to find out if the issue is with your controller or your headset.
