Help with Headphones

I am looking at buying the Sennheiser Momentum On Ear Headphones. I know that these headphones will receive game audio and chat audio through the adapter thing that hooks onto the bottom of the controller and I am also pretty confident after reading all
the websites I could find that the inline microphone will not work due to it being made for Apple products.

My question is, has anyone else had any luck in getting the inline mic on the Sennheisers or any other inline mic to work with a OMTP to CTIA adapter of any kind that can be found on Ebay or Amazon or places like that? I know V-Moda makes a boom mic that
hooks into some headphones and I know about the ModMic (which looks really freaking sweet) but I am not to sure about these fitting into the Sennheiser On Ear. Not to mention that these products are quite a bit more expensive than $1 adapter from Ebay.

So, yeah, if anyone has had any luck with those adapters, let me know. Or, if anyone has any other suggestions on another pair of headphones, that would be great too.

Alternatively get wireless set of stereo ones and by the dss to convert it to 7.1 saves forking out all that money for surround sound ones and every bit as good so I'm told

TURTLE BEACH DPX21'S HAVE THE DSS 5.1/7.1 BUNDLED TOGETHER.. 89.99 OR 129.99 AT VERY.CO.UK VERY U CAN SPREAD THE COST. THE DSS IS £75 ON ITS OWN.

iVE HEARD TURTLE BEACH X41 R GOOD ALSO. DPX21 ARE WIRED AND USB POWERED THRU THE XBOX. WIRELESS CANS CAN DROP OUT AND INTERFERE WITH ROUTERS. I THINK THE PX5'S WHICH ARE 189.99 R ON A 5.2 BANDWITH.

I also had this question, and am having a very hard time finding any answers. I also would like to add another possible senario of buying a seperate mic (cheap one that ends in a 3.5 mm), connect the headphones and mic with a 2 female to 1 male adapter and
plug that in the controller. Anyone???

PX5's are 2.4ghz it's the astro headsets that use 5.8ghz.

It doesn't matter what the source is, you can have DTS-HD 7.1 as a source for all it matters your still only outputting through a stereo set of headphones. I could stick a bugatti veyron shell around a reliant robin engine, its still only going to be able
to perform like a Robin.

Don't get me wrong it might make SOME difference but only to the extent that those "soundbars" you can stick under your telly bounce sound off the walls to try and imitate full 5.1 surround.

The DSS's use dolby tech but your headphones have still only got 2 drivers in them, no matter how clever the software driving them you've not got sound being produced from anywhere other than the stereo positions. The same way why Dolby give placement positions
to where to place 5.1 setups in your living room, otherwise you might as well just bundle all your speakers together either side of your head and have done with it lol. Good marketing by them though.

I really hate to put a dampener on those dss but whilst they do process surround your still only getting stereo sound out the headphones. It cannot convert what's not there mate, the headphones have only got left and right drivers in them not front and back
as well. The best ultimately you'll get in reality from them is almost a "wide" mode effect that plus better centering. Its just a shame true 5.1/7.1 headsets cost so much! Was toying with a throat Mic plus home cinema headphones but don't know if I can be
@r$ed to go through all that hassle.
