    Hello,

    I recently purchased a Xbox 360, second hand. My son wanted to get a live account to play with friends. He registered this account using a gmail.com account. Now that I, as parent, want to get into his Live account to manage it, I can't (because its not
    a Microsoft account).

    His Xbox profile will not allow me to change his Live connected gmail.com account to his @outlook.com account. There is an error message.

    Migrate to a new XBOX live account

    Can anyone help?

    I have 2 accounts, the first with a gmail.com login (old one been using for years). The second is a live.com login.

    I want to migrate all my settings and achievements from the gmail.com account to the live.com account (gmail.com > live.com) then close off the gmail.com account without losing content.

    I can't seem to find a way to do this. Can anyone suggest how this can be done?

    Go to https://account.live.com/acsr and follow the instructions to recover your account.

    Xbox Account Email Change.

    The xbox is part of the Microsoft account it is permanently attached and cannot be separated.

    Now next step, if you have a Microsoft email, ie Hotmail.com msn.com outlook.com this is a Microsoft email, IF you change this email, EVERYTHING on that account will disappear. If the account name is something like yahoo.com or gmail.com you can replace
    the email on this account. It will still be the same account but just a different name. So if you Dad has other things attached to the account like Microsoft Office, it would still be there.
