Help with controller / Project cars.

Help gulp.

In a straight line, my car will veer ferociously off to one side causing me much grief.

Controller is impossible to predict , need advice on reassigning buttons for manual controls, & cant get out of settings because it tells me to assign all buttons! Wot?

I understand the physics, & cannot steer the car predictably. Just turns me off the game. Sad.

Does any one know how to do and find the patch for project cars having controller problems

 

The developers have said that some people are having some trouble which can be fixed by setting your "Steering Deadzone" to "0" (Zero).

 

Tried that. Did not work. There are too many options for tuning. The trial & error would take a lifetime to work out, not to mention, tuning setups for each car & all tracks?

All the controller settings are just way too sensitive.

 

Well the developers are acknowledging that some people are being hit with a steering bug.

However I'm personally finding that the game drives like a realistic SIM and so besides manipulating the thumbstick, the way you brake and accellerate into a corner will affect your steering as well.

If you're using the racing line, turn it off and try taking your cues from the track like in a real race.

You can reset a session at any time so call your first run a practice... don't try so much to overtake everyone and win but just to get a feel for the track, where and when you should be braking, how to find the apex of a corner and start accellerating.

Then once you can get round the track without pitching your car off the track, reset the session and you should do much better.

Of course if you're bombing down the straight and, for no reason whatsoever the wheel just spontaneously locks to the side and you crash... that sort of thing is gonna need a patch, but just to be sure you might want to set "mechanical faults" to "off".

 

Q: how are you guys playing it already? I looked on LIVE and didn't see any (downloadable) content...
