Help with child's account on a second xbox? "Home" console question?

Also, if there are no gold accounts on either Xbox, they may not be able to play online. If there's one gold account and one of the xbox ones is set as a home console, there is a way to share gold on two consoles at once.

First, log out of the gold account on the home console, and allow child account number one to log in there. That account will be able to log into and access online multiplayer so that the kids can play together due to the shared gold feature of a home console.
Then, on the second xbox one, log into both the gold account and the second child account. Then use the second child account to log into the game. You should be able to use gold in that way on that console as long as the gold account is logged in.

It would be a good idea to setup child accounts for each child you have, and if you already have game pass ultimate, then using the account that has it then make the console the home Xbox, and everyone that uses the console will have access to it.

2nd question no your home gold only applies to your home console the child can only access content he purchasef on his account

3rd question is probably because your console is set as his home console

Hi Onyx, i’m confused as to what you said; Whichever child has the Gold membership on their account should be set as Home on the other child's console.

So, if child A has has the gold account then child Bs console should be the designated Home Xbox of child As account?

Or do you setup child Bs console to list child As console as the Home Xbox?

Also, can both Consoles be using the Gold account at the same time albiet with the childs individual profiles? I.e. both children can be playing multiplayer games at the same time using the same Gold account on their
own console?

Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

Essentially each account will need to have a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription if they are going to be on different Xbox's, but there is a way to share digital content and subscriptions between accounts on the same Xbox. This is called a Home console where
content can be shared between accounts on the same Xbox, but every account can only have one Home Console.

So to get this to work, you can purchase the subscription for one child account and they would then need to add that account to the other Xbox and set that console as the Home console for the account with the subscription on it. This will allow the Xbox
with the child account with no subscription to get online because the child account with the subscription is sharing the online accessibility to the other one.
