Hm, if it requires you to use CD-ROM drive, maybe you need to buy a USB CD-ROM drive as my PC doesn't have one either.

if only it had more games... saturn came out at an unfortunate time. same thing happened to Turbografx 16, just too late for it's own market (turbografx got killed by the 'disc' consoles like saturn)
I'm not sure of your "history" (for Gaming anyways?) but the Saturn and CD-ROM Games did not "kill" the TG16, it was the SNES and even Genesis.

While the TG16 was very cool in it's own short little time, it was generally viewed by Gamers as a "budget" Console compared to the SNES and/ or Genesis. TG16 even had a CD-ROM Add-on way before Saturn even was released but that didn't help it from the downward
spiral.

Hey kauz, thanks for showing an interest.

Im taking my statement from two facts. Now bear with me... I'm not cracking open the TG16's wiki page, this is just from memory. [fact one] The TG16 was marketed to compete with the Genesis and the SuperNES. It was a 16 bit console, used slim cartridges,
and had some pretty good games. BUT, the next great thing to come was going to be the CD-ROM and the TG16 wanted in on that market early (was late to challenge the 16 bit-ers). So it came out with its CD-ROM to attach to the original console similar to Sega
CD.

.

[fact two] almost over night (or so it seemed) they stopped making games (cartridges) for the TG16 and went into developement for all sorts of games for thier CD-ROM. Those of us who couldn't shell out $300-$400 bucks for the unit were stuck with old games
for our 16 bit system. I probably should have said Sega CD above, but while the Sega CD out competed the TG16, it was the next-gen, the true first gen of CD-ROM that was the death nail. I remember when Sega Saturn came out... my little TG16 fan-zine had
a special offer, a CD-ROM and six games for only $200!! It reeked of desperation, and it was the last 'fan-zine' I ever got. Like most people I had abandoned the old console and was looking forward toward the consoles that were designed AROUND the CD-ROM,
instead of the other way around.

.

now you see where I was coming from...

Hhhmmm, looks like they are stopping you from updating from a usb or a cd rom, or I'm doing it wrong, but I've tried numerous different ways and the 360 doesn't seem to notice the usb plugged and the cd rom just says "mixed media" cd.... guess I'll try it
with a dvd.

Maybe I should have gotten a ps3?
Yes and this history you stated is correct. It was the combination of the SNES (true 16 bit) and the Sega Genesis (again true 16 bit) along with the Sega CD-ROM (which didn't do that well along with the TG 16 CD-ROM).
The Market was taken over by SNES and the Genesis with Third Party Game Development that the little old TG 16 didn't have any Third Party Support.

Did you ever grab one of the 32 NEC CD-ROM's? That was quite a neat little Console that never made it state side (that I know of) but had some potential. It just couldn't really get any Support other then I believe Hudson Soft (Honeybee Soft?). By that point
it was too late for NEC and they pretty much bailed out of the Console Market.

lol then came the NEO GEO Pro with the $200 Game/s. I had one along with two Games Magician Lord and Ninja Combat. I would really like an Arcade Port of ML though.
