Help with a strict NAT type

Hi there,

What Country/State/Province do you live in? Costa Rica currently, but South Dakota, USA normally

Modem brand & model number: Zoom ADSL X5

Router brand & model number: Belkin--Does not show model number

Wired or wireless: Wireless

Things you have tried: Port forwarding, DMZ

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown: Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? Strict NAT

Any Error Codes you encounter: Status Code 0x1040040002000043, 0x1040040002000047

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): No idea--hoping I can fix without contacting them





I'm getting disconnected from Party Chat, and at times I'm not able to start/join parties. Under detailed NAT information it says, "Your network is behind a port-symmetric NAT". Anything I can do to fix this?

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

If it's still strict after you open the proper ports, try resetting your modem and router, then hard reset your console.

This site will help you open the right ports

Just select your router and follow the instructions. Do not download anything from the site, it's not necessary. It's a safe site, but port forwarding manually is very easy.

 

Xbox One NAT type: Strict.... Help

I've watched videos on YouTube on how to change it to open & it worked. The question I have is, how do I keep it on open permanently? Every time I turn my Xbox off & then on a few hours later, it's back to strict. It's getting very annoying.

 

Also, this is for Xbox One.

 

Plug the Xbox straight into the Zoom , restart everything and test NAT again...

Note: Your router's configuration page is usually (https://192.168.1.1) or something like that.

 

If that zoom is also a router , then that's the problem....will need to bridge it...

 

I just got home and looked it up , the Zoom is also a router , your getting double NAT with that setup...I would take the Belkin out of the loop and test again...

 

Hey guys just fixed the strict nat type problem. I have an optimum modem with one cable slot on back for my router. My router was making my nat strict. I put one of those cable spliters into my modem plugged my modem and hardwired xbox cable into the other
slot on the splitter and nat was then open.
