  1. Help with 120hz 1440p on Pixio PX277

I bought a Pixio PX277 a little over a month ago in order to play 120hz and 1440p on the XSX. While I feel that the picture is better than the monitor I had been using before, it doesn’t feel as different as I was hoping it would. Is there something that I am missing in my settings, or can my eyes just not tell the difference between 60hz/1080p and 120hz/1440p? Using ATEVON-HDC02 HDMI (2.0) to connect.

    XSX Settings

    Display:

    Resolution – 1440p

    Refresh Rate – 120 Hz

    Video modes:

    Allow 50Hz – Off

Allow Variable Refresh Rate – On

    Allow YCC 4:2:2 – On

    Allow 4K – Off

    Allow HDR10 – On

    Auto HDR – On

    Pixio PX277 Monitor Settings

    Gaming Setup:

    FreeSync Premium – On

    Overdrive – Low

    Game Assist – FPS Counter

    HDR – Off

    DCR – Off

    MPRT – Off

    Input:

    Auto Select

Is there anything that I am missing? I do have the FPS Counter under Game Assist on and it shows 120 pretty consistently, even for games like Skate 3 on Game Pass.

    :)

    Help with 120hz 1440p on Pixio PX277

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community.

We appreciate your coming to the Xbox community. Seeing your settings I believe that everything is configured correctly, regarding the differences between 60HZ/120HZ it can be different for each person, some may have a greater perception than others, players who feel a greater difference are people who are used to playing multiplayer, but even so, it may take a while for them to notice something.

Regarding your Skate 3 game, the 120 fps shown I believe is related to the refresh rate of your monitor and not the fps of the game itself, as it is not part of the titles that run at 120 FPS. A complete list of 120HZ games can be found at the link below.

Will Xbox series x/s have more monitors that run 1440p @ 120hz than current gen consoles?

I'd like to clarify, you don't need a hdmi 2.1 connection unless you want 4k @ 120hz which doesn't seem realistic though i heard r6 siege will support that. Hdmi 2.0 can support 1440p @ 120hz and 2.1 ports are compatible with 2.0 hdmi ports and cords.

Odd thing that these monitors claim to support 1440p @ 120hz through hdmi 2.0 but for some reason don't on the One X, though there's a few that do. I read it's something to do with an unusual refresh rate configuration on one x that most monitors don't support,
so maybe the new consoles will have better monitor support since they're built with 120hz in mind, i guess I'll find out soon enough.

I'm just gonna buy a pixio 278 monitor that claims to be compatible with xbox (it's the one i wanted) and see how it is on next gen, if it doesn't support 1440p @ 120hz I'll return it and buy a px 329 which i know works on one x at 1440p @ 120, just no hdr
support, higher response, and apparently not that bright. Both affordable 2k 120hz monitors though. I'll update this if the px278 works on next gen or not aswell.

    I appreciate all answers though.

    Xbox doesn't have a 1440p 60FPS option; can't use 1080p or 1440p HDR on xbox

I just tried to change it to 1440p 60hz, but it says this resolution isn't supported.

1080p is available to me in 120hz or in 60hz

4k is available to me in 120hz or in 60hz

But,1440p is only available in 120hz?

Xbox One X on the LG C9 Oled TV doesn’t use HDR for resolutions other than 4K

I’m unable to play at 1440p with HDR, that was my goal (1440p@120Hz).
