Help! USB device doesn't work ANYMORE in Xbox 360

Hi everybody, I've search everywhere and it seems that nobody else have the same problem as me. Sorry in advance for my English. Okay, so, I copied some videos on my usb device a couple months ago and tested it in my xbox 360 to see if everything was working
properly... it did. I could watch all the videos that were on my usb device. 4 days ago, I wanted to watch the videos again but now my xbox360 doesn't recognize my usb device as a memory stick. It recognize it as a kind of External hard drive to save xbox
360 stuff on it. I retested my usb device in my computer and everything was okay. I then repluged it in a different usb port of my Xbox and it still doesn't work. The thing that bothers me the most is that it worked with no problems a couple of months ago
and now it does not. Oh and my computer crashed 2 days ago. Why does my usb drive doesn't work ANYMORE in my xbox 360? And everything is up to date and 3 other usb devices are working properly in my xbox 360. Can somebody help me, please? I wish you all a
    great day.

    :)

  2. USB Help

    Hello There,

AEmmitt This issue may occur for one or more of the following reasons:
    • The device is not compatible with Xbox 360.
    • The USB cable isn't connected correctly.
    • The USB cable is faulty.
    • The USB device was not recognized during console startup.
    • The USB device requires an external power supply that isn't present.
    • The USB device is faulty.
    • The USB port on the Xbox 360 console is temporarily disabled by the over-current protection mechanism.
    • The USB port on the Xbox 360 console is faulty.
      Solutions

To resolve this issue, use the following methods.

Note Test your USB device after each method to see if the device works. If a method doesn't resolve the issue, go to the next method.

Method 1: Verify that the device is compatible with Xbox 360

Verify that the portable device is compatible with Xbox 360. The following devices are compatible with the Xbox 360 console:
      • Official Xbox 360 accessories
      • Most USB mouse devices and USB keyboards
      • Most digital cameras
      • Many portable music players
      • Many mass storage devices
Method 2: Troubleshoot the USB device

If the USB device is compatible with Xbox 360, troubleshoot the USB connection. To do this, follow these steps:
      1. Restart the Xbox 360 console.
      2. Disconnect the device from the USB port, and then turn off the console. After 5 to 10 seconds, turn the console back on. After the console has restarted, reconnect the device to the USB port.
      3. Turn off the console, remove the power cord from the power outlet, reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the console again.
      4. Disconnect any unnecessary devices from the console.
      5. Determine whether the USB device requires a separate power supply. If it does, attach the power supply.
      6. Connect the USB device to a different USB port on the console, and see whether the device works. If the device works in another USB port, the Xbox 360 console may require service.

360 won't recognize USB flash drive.

    Hey there BeguiledPrune6!

I'm sorry to hear about the USB issues. Have you tried switching to a different USB port on the Xbox 360 console? I would also try plugging the USB into a PC to see if it is recognized or needs to be repaired. Here is a support article with a list of troubleshooting
    steps I recommend trying:

    Hey there Kateshan!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your USB device. Because the three other devices are working on your Xbox 360, it leads me to believe that the issue is with the USB drive you're trying to use. Unfortunately your best option is to use a different USB
    drive with your Xbox 360.

    usb device not working anymore.

If I had to take a guess I'd say that the sectors that identify it as a storage device to the 360 have become corrupt. Flash memory is quite fickle and prone to corruption. Only solution I can think of is to re-configure the flash drive.
