Youll want to make sure your logging in with the EXACT SAME email and password as the account you were using on the xbox 360. It looks like you just created a brand nee account instead of signing in with you current on as you show as having 0 gamerscore

Thank you very much for the link but one thing i don't understand is if i delete the gamertag my XBOX LIVE account is on on my old console will i still be able to retrieve the gamertag on my new console when it comes????????????

You supposed to log in into your Xbox 360 in Step 1. The following steps are all done on the 360, too.

BUT: Important for you is the fact, that only one(!) gamertag can be associated with one(!) live account. So there is no possibility to merge two gamertags into one live account!

If you say you don't need your new gamertag and only want to use the old one with your new live account, then you need to remove the new gamertag before. How to do this is described in the second section of the How-to. (Resolve the error "The Microsoft account
you're switching to is already linked to another Xbox account")

BUT please be aware that your subscriptions are bounded to the respective gamertag! So if you remove your new gamertag you also remove your subscriptions!
