Help troubleshooting Xbox One X issues.

Hi guys,

I wonder if you can help me. My Xbox One X has started developing a fault. recently I have noticed white or coloured horizontal lines running across my screen, and later my screen would randomly flash black.

At first I thought it might be the GPU dying, which I though was odd for a console barely 12 months old. But during some testing I realised that if I stream my Xbox to my PC, I don't get any of the artifacting or black flashes, could it just be the HDMI
socket that's malfunctioning and not the GPU?

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks for all the helpful advice guys. I'll be honest, I've never actually used Reddit, but I will be sure to go check out the insider's subreddit.

It's weird, right now I've been playing Rise of The Tomb raider on it for a good 30 mins without any issues at all, other times it will appear as soon as I switch the Xbox one.

Anyway, I'll head over to Reddit and keep you guys updated on what happens.

Xbox Insider program has been known to cause issues with the operating system. This is understandable considering the Xbox Insider program is for users that choose to test our new features.

Have you
submitted feedback through the Xbox Insider Hub and
Xbox Insider subreddit? The subreddit is a great place to find out if other Xbox Insider users have been experiencing the same issues and discuss them. These would be the best options to take before starting a repair.

A repair is still definitely an option since the issue may be attributed to the HDMI port of the console. We would like to go through all the troubleshooting steps before suggesting a repair, and you have done a great job with the steps you have taken thus
far. Let us know how it goes after providing feedback!

Have you tried a and port on your screen?. To make sure there is not a issue with screen or cable to try and help fix this issue.

As you said you was part of the insider program so I suggest checking out there reddit page to report and to see if there is a solution for your issue. reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/

Normally a factory reset fixes OS insider issues. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

Hey Lenzo,

So let me tell you where I'm at. It's definitely not the cable or the TV, I've tried multiple different HDMI cables, even the one that I use with my PC. All exhibit the same symptoms, the same goes for my TV, I use it regularly with my PC, playing at 4K
60htz and it works fine, even after my Xbox started playing up.

Now it's funny you mentioned software, let me explain how this all started; I'm on the insider program, in the alpha ring and I intended to borrow my Xbox to my friend as he recently moved and didn't have any internet yet. So I hard reset (formatted) my
Xbox and it was after the format that all this magically started happening. I have tried various formats and even updated a few times since this happened but it hasn't changed anything.

I can also confirm that I still get the issue while in the offline troubleshooting menu.
