    Help required regarding managing/moving Profile/Gametag to child Account


    Being new to XBOX 360, I set myself up with an account. I added a child account for my son. So far so good.

    Then I got a 30 day trial of XBOX Live and set it up against my account (Mistake 1). I then discovered that my son would have to log on as me (Mistake 2) as a Live Gold account is required for each user on the XBOX.

    So, my son is quite happy for me to log him onto my account for the 30 days, but he wants his "own Gametag". We change the Game tag to one that is "cool" (Mistake 3) and he is happy playing against his mates.

    Now the 30 days are about up, so we have bought a 12 month LIVE Gold subscription.

    Now....

    I want my son to use his child account.

    I want him to be able to use the new 12 month Live Gold subscription.

    He wants to be able to use his "cool" Gametag.

    So....

    How do I transfer the "cool" Gametag to the Child Account?

    How do I transfer the profile to the Child Account?

    How do I associate the 12 month Live Gold subscription to the Child Account?

    Any help gratefully received and hopefully I'll be able to avoid having a sulky 9 year old on my hands!

    Set up xbox live for kids not working

    In order to use the account you created, you will need to download the account to the console -

    support.xbox.com/.../download-your-xbox-live-profile-to-another-360-console     This will be different from your child's offline account. It is no longer possible to create a child account on the console, so you can't move their offline account to Live.

    @Those having issues with Plants vs. Zombies - That is an online game. It requires a gold subscription in order to be played.

    add it to a family    . This requires an adult account to add the child account to the family. Once the child account has been added to the adult account's family, the child account will be able to access online features. Be sure to let us know the results!

    I don't think you can move the profile. What you should do is make him a new profile as a child account in your family. He will be able to access the games of the original profile if you give the account permission. You will want a passcode or password
    required for the original account, and adjust Xbox settings to prevent creation or adding of accounts. Then you can set your hour limits and content restrictions for the child account.
