Help refund but to wrong card

Hi Akadragonjr, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

When it comes to an item that was refunded, the money will be credited back directly to the card that was used in buying the item. In this case, if the money has been processed already (already stated as "refunded" on your order history) it will now depend on your bank on when they will credit back the money.

If you got a new card issued from the same provider then it just transfers to that account your card provider does this automatically including charges you already have

It doesn't matter if the card is expired or not it still returns to that card

However you gotta remember it does take time to return this is on your bank side

You can't change what payment method you refund to as the ambassador told you it only goes to the original payment method

Microsoft Store said they could not help me. They claim they refunded the money to my "credit card". PayPal says Microsoft never did refund the money. PayPal also said there was a mix up with the BillMeLater and my bank account. So I was told that PayPal
took the money from the wrong account (after I chose another account at PayPal payment point), and Microsoft refunded the money to the wrong person's credit card. Microsoft apparently made a mistake in refunding the money, as they refunded the wrong amount
and sent it to someone else's credit card. I disputed the monies taken with PayPal and my bank. Hopefully that will solve the issue.

DevGod.... I did ask the Microsoft Store for a conformation number, 13 times. I also spoke with a Supervisor 5 times. Was told that they could not issue a refund, as they had already done so to my "credit card". When I told them I used PayPal, they told
me they had refunded the money to a credit card and not PayPal. Finally they told me they could not override the system to give me my refund, as the system was showing I was already refunded. I was calm the entire time, and did ask for a confirmation of the
transaction (first time and everytime I called).

Yep, there were some messages from Singer, but they apparently got removed for trolling.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with redeeming the gift card on the wrong account.

What type of gift card was it? (Currency/Subscription)

Unfortunately, if the gift card is for Microsoft Currency you will not be able to transfer or refund. The funds will get attached to the account it was redeemed on.
