Help purchasing apps

If I may ask, what is the exact error or issue that your son is getting whenever he is trying to purchase apps or games?

Also, if he is under your family group kindly sign in using the organizer to https://account.microsoft.com/family and then click "Go to overview" on the side of his account then "spending" for you to manage it.

If it's showing as "completed" on your Microsoft order history there are rare cases that it may take 24 hours and if after 24 hours it's still not showing up, you may need to reach out to the game support.
