    Everytime I go to play a game online it will work for a random amount of time and them I get a big lag spike then from there it's constant lag and the game becomes unplayable is there anything I can do?

    Please help!!!!!!!

    I have just set up my xbox one and the sound doesn't sound right. I have it on a 5.1 dolby system it's really odd on call of duty advanced warfare the centre speaker works during cinematic scenes but has no volume during game play it sounds ok and the gun and voice effects come mainly from the front two speakers but that can't be right????

    Has anyone else got call of duty set up on 5.1 dolby system?

    i dont have cod..

    first i would go into settings and controller and update it.. (idk why) but somewhere along the line an update for headsets had something with dolby 5.1 in it.

    i dont have cod so i cant say how my 5.1 sound bar works but the way i recall it is.. the developer sets the standard or output channels.. this is why forza worked next to polk audio to "dial in sound" its not really a microsoft thing as much as cod development.

    i would check settings on xb1 to see if it is in dolby 5.1 or stereo
    i would also check the settings in game to seewhat they are.

    depending on your sound bar check and see i fit has a setting for analog or coax it may also have different modes.. game,movie,stereo,cinamatic each one does alter how sound is projected

    Hey there ChaseMorrison56,

    Sorry to hear about the network performance. Let's check a few things to narrow this down. Does the issue persist when using both wired or wireless network connections on the console?



    Run a Detailed Network Statistics test on the Xbox One console and please provide the following information.

    • Download Speed
    • Upload Speed
    • Latency
    • Packet Loss %
    • Wireless Strength (if applicable)
    • Modem Manufacturer
    • Router Manufacturer (if being used) as well as the model number
    • NAT Type

    Let's then have you try to do a Network power cycle, to see if it helps.

    • Start by powering off and unplugging your Modem, Router (if applicable) and Xbox One console.
    • After 60 seconds of the devices being powered off, turn on the power to your Modem and then the Router (if applicable).
    • Wait another 60 seconds for the network equipment to turn on and gain the proper signals from your ISP. Then turn on your Xbox One console.

    That information will help us determine the next best steps. Thanks!

    Is this happening in all games you play or one in specific? Have you tried to use a wired connection and if so has that helped?

  7. I have not tried wired but, I just got a AT&T employee to fix my internet but it hasn't seemed to help my Xbox problem and yes this is happening in all games.

    When you say they fixed the internet, what seems more fixed about it? Can you try a wired connection and run the same test to see if there is an improvement?

  10. Thanks for the details, is this happening in every game you try as well as any hour you try to play? Are there also multiple people using the connection at the same time? Are you able to try to wire into the device while the WiFi is still enabled? Most devices
    are what are called "Gateway" devices. This means they can use both wired and wireless connections at the same time to connect to the internet.

  11. Yes it is happening in every game and yes there are multiple people using the internet but they don't seem to have any issues with the connection. Where would I get a cable to connect to my Xbox to my router?

  12. You'd want to look for what's called an "Ethernet" cable. It's like a phone cable that clips in. They typically come included with Modems or Routers. Here's a picture of one.

    Your best solution would be to buy a used one either from gamestop, ebay, or pawn shops...you can probably find them for 40 bucks or less nowadays...or if you are electronically handy, you can try opening it up and replacing the hardrive since it uses a
    regular pc hardrive.

    Ok thanks for the link. I tried all that last night. And the video was for the xbox 360 not the original one. The original one does not have an option like that. Those button codes are what I think I need but can't get them because they are specific to each
    serial number. If there is a mass list of codes that would be helpful or some sort of disc that automated the reset process. Thanks Endgamez.

    No it doesn't, no error codes except for the message in my original post:

    "Your Xbox needs service, please contact the customer service number located in your instruction manual."

    And I didn't notice any change with the light. I think it stayed green. And thank you for helping me! I do appreciate it.
