Help please

Hi pls could someone tell me how to get headset working with bf4 ....plugged into controller and mic on ..zip...also my connection doesnt seem to be too slow..the occasional lag...but i always die first one on one...is this the connection speed or am i just
rubbish

I have just set up my xbox one and the sound doesn't sound right. I have it on a 5.1 dolby system it's really odd on call of duty advanced warfare the centre speaker works during cinematic scenes but has no volume during game play it sounds ok and the gun and voice effects come mainly from the front two speakers but that can't be right????

Has anyone else got call of duty set up on 5.1 dolby system?

i dont have cod..

first i would go into settings and controller and update it.. (idk why) but somewhere along the line an update for headsets had something with dolby 5.1 in it.

i dont have cod so i cant say how my 5.1 sound bar works but the way i recall it is.. the developer sets the standard or output channels.. this is why forza worked next to polk audio to "dial in sound" its not really a microsoft thing as much as cod development.

i would check settings on xb1 to see if it is in dolby 5.1 or stereo
i would also check the settings in game to seewhat they are.

depending on your sound bar check and see i fit has a setting for analog or coax it may also have different modes.. game,movie,stereo,cinamatic each one does alter how sound is projected

 

You need the adapter they are releasing soon if its a 3rd party brand. If its the Headset that came with the Xbox One idk, that and there is bad net-code with BF4, try joining servers in your area atleast.

 

set network smoothing to ZERO under game options also

Very poor server quality in BF4, it's hard to find one without any lag, I use US servers. Also, starting out you've little to no chance of survival unless you camp all the time, everyone has better guns and more knowledge of said guns... you'll do better
as you start to master guns and unlock better stuff.

 

Being a BF4 player myself I can confirm Hellfire's post. This game has a definite learning curve but if you ever suspect a networking or lag issue, then www.speedtest.net will be a good place to go to test your speed.

 

starting guns are fine, the only advantage higher levels have are scopes and attachments, but if you keep your engagement at medium range or closer, you'll do fine, use burst fire to control your weapon.

 

Yeh starting weapons are fine, its just how you use them to your advantage and unlock the attachments.

 

Yea the starting weapons are 'fine', but you're clearly at a disadvantage. I only started BF4 on Xbox One and was destroyed by people with all the unlocks for the first 1000 deaths or so, and I'm familar with the series.

 

I play TDM or Dom... What is this lag you all speak of? LoL
